Suggestions for dealing with car size drones?

I've been in tier 1 for a few days, and score is about 270, been doing ok, except for anytime I've randomly come across groups with the large car size drone. It's pretty much instant death, I either get shocked and killed, or just straight killed. There's not any time to even get away...

    Any suggestions?

Are you talking about the mini-tanks (the ones with tank treads) or the War Dogs (the four legged monstrosities that have a friggin' rail gun on their back)?

In either case, get to cover ASAP. Then just use the cover to shoot from. The War Dogs are slow to reload, so if they miss their shot you have a chance to take them out, shoot the big gun and when you see the red light, duck.

The mini-tanks you just have to shoot them when they're reloading, They take a bit to reload, you can also stop them in their tracks... get it... by shooting the treads.

Eventually you should be able to survive them a lot easier but they're going to be rough for a while.

The massive recon drones that fly about in the open world. Just find cover and shoot and move and just repeat. Only seen 5 myself but if youll caught in the open with no cover RIP agent. Lol

I suggest using an LMG, every time I fight them it seems to be the best weapon to use. I also find a door way to run in and out of. I am not sure on the point of the drones weak points but I find it just faster to hit body and ignore them.

it has a soft red underbelly weakpoint.. it's small in proportion to the aerial drone size.. but it's red.. if you can hit it.. (i think it's near the centre of the drone) It's a pain to tackle aerial recon drones.

I suggest if you have the jump on them to choose good cover and have a fallback plan if needed.. don't choose an area with activities on the map you haven't cleared as a fallback plan.. bc then you will get surrounded more than likely.

If the aerial drone already spotted you find the biggest cover you can and the best cover has 4 sides that you can circle around.. or i should say pivot around as the aerial drone will try to get on your exposed side.. so if you continually pivot around your barricade cover that's best. Hopefully you choose a larger cover like a bus or shipping container.. not small cover like a small pile of sand bags.. bc if the drone sends it's missiles it has a larger radius and you will need a larger cover object to absorb those missiles.

If you have a safehouse near by you may also want to "kite" towards it. And yes faster guns help.. LMG for sure.. AR is fine. Pistols are fairly accurate but usually slower.. and offensive skills kind of suck to help out here too.

The drone also has audio cues to when it will fire it's missiles.. so listen for that and then get to cover~!
Oh, it's also good to fallback or begin the assault on the aerial drone when you have ally NPCs nearby. If they are around try to kite the drone towards those NPCs to help you. At least it will draw away the drone's attention so you can focus on picking shots at it.

And finally be patient since you are still developing your agent. Until you have WT4 or WT5 gears it may be tougher for you to fight them. So take your time. Sometimes they drop nice things.. but most of the time not so much (as we know about the loot and RNG in this game).
    Hope that helps.

I've found those aerial drones to be really easy to take down with either an LMG or an AR.

I have only managed to take 1 of these down, I have seen about 6 and I just avoid the confrontation unless I have adequate cover and luckily it appeared after I had finished a territory control. I used an LMG and I had a shelter above me and cover in front of me and no way for the drone to flank. (How lucky was that) so it could only face me head on where I was covered. I would use a doorway so you can shoot at tthe drone, run inside and heal if necessary...rinse and repeat. I will say the drop I had from it for gear and equipment was sh*t and not worth the confontation.

    This exactly.

Just find cover and take out it's weak points.Goes down pretty fast.
Just need to take notice when it's about to shoot shells at you.

Thanks for the suggestions. Didn't have time to notice the weak spot, but will take everyone's suggestions to mind!
