Ok so we have the people that grind for an infinite amount of hours, get the best gear in the game and when they enter conflict/dark zone they have a very noticeable advantage over casual players, that's pretty nice. But why are casual players left forgotten?
I am a casual player and all I want to do is have some fun in conflict/darkzone, which are the PvP enviorements, but I dont have the time to grind that much loot, so I find myself with my hands tided most of the time. Grinding control points to get blueprints, or that exact gear with those exact talents and attributes, or that precise weapon with the perfect talents is just overwhelming for someone that just wants to shoot some other players... Not to mention that there's no more optimization so you have to really rely on RNG...
Is it too much to ask to have a PvP game mode in which all the stats are maxed? That way everyone would have the exact same chance to win and also have every talent unlocked and this would allow more variety to the game. This way the PvP would be based around skill and not just loot.
I might be wrong but I just think that this game could be way better with a game mode like that...
Quite surprised that you actually want to play PvP in The Division. It is the worst PvP game I've ever seen if you ask me. Either because everyone uses cheats or they are assisted by the servers doing so. If you are looking for balanced game play then I can only say that you will never find it in this game.
They have standardization in TD2 in all but the Occupied DZ. But, cheating is still rampant there so not much better.Originally Posted by tt_ivi_99 Go to original post
I see both sides to the actual tech issue. People who spend more time on anything, should generally be rewarded. Sure, there are things like sports and academia where some people are simply better athletes or are smarter. They have an obvious advantage and may not have to spend the time others. But, for games, it should be more appropriate to amount of time spent. That said, there's different ways to spend your time which will yield different results.
Personally, I wrote off the DZ 2 years ago and other than to do the couple of SHIELD commendations, I haven't set foot in there since. Like said above, if you want good quality, fair PvP, The Division isn't likely what you are after.
Anyone who believed this game would be well balanced after a few months is a fool. That was never going to be the case. Imo it was quite well balanced on release apart from the beserk defender drone combo and since then its gone a different route from being a quick kill use cover game.
Normalisation is there to help the casual players out. It will help you compete but it wont bring you up to the level of those that have spent the time grinding. If you're not a grinder then you have to ask yourself, why are you playing a looter shooter?
At least PvP... I think most casuals enjoy the game a lot playing PvE at least if their expectations are in check. If you think you can hit WT5 and immediately go run the raid, then you'll be sorely disappointed unless you have a great team that can carry you. But, for just running around in the game, doing missions, the casuals should be perfectly happy since the NPC's will have the same gear only dependent on the difficulty setting.Originally Posted by HonestlyOK1986 Go to original post
