A revamp of recalibration and normalization for better PvE and PvP experience.
My question is simple, why recalibration has so many restrictions and we have to deal with so many different stats and attribute, making it extremly long to finaly have the maxed out piece of equipement that you want, to finaly end up with everyone playing the same build, or almost the same build ?
It creates artificial skill barrier, and move the focus from how well a player actually play (positioning, aiming, team-play etc...) to how much time a player spent time grinding and become pretty much godlike both in PvE and PvP, because obviously the devs can't balance the difficulty based on the top 1% players that have access to the best build after hundred of hours of grinding, because it would make the game unplayable for all the others.
Problem is, these top 1% just detroy all the rest in any PvP encounter, and the gap between the one with the optimized build (people who has the time and enjoy the extrem grinding thing, it's a minority) and the others.
My suggestion is:
- to increase the difficulty of the PvE not by increasing HP, dmg and armor of ennemies, but thanks to more complexe mechanics and team-play strategy (the raid is going this way, and that's good) and by making abilities (the next patch is heading this way) and gear attributes more relevant (nowadays, only a few attributes are good, such as +10% dmg to elite, the rest is trash)
- to incrase the balance in PvP, just abandon the normalized thing which is a mess, and create a PvP inventory/recalibration system where player can create the perfect build that they need, by tweaking the pieces of equipement as much as they want with no cost. Each piece of equipement and weapons could be unlocked by finding it once in the PvE and giving it to a special PvP NPC. That way, the PvP would be balanced, people could try different strategy and synergy by being able to quickly try new builds, without having to spend 100+ hours everytime they want to try something new or a patch is released. So we could have a true and interesting playground for PvP players, and the rewards could be : a better PvP ranking system, visual effects and skins, ressources for the PvE... Just take a look at other PvP game, what matter is to have a balanced, challenging and thrilling gameplay experience and a ranking, the reward are seconday
