The game director for the Fate of Atlantis DLC says that the modern day aspect of Fate of Atlantis will go in a way we'd never expect in the 3rd episode in a short interview that he did about the DLC, go in the link bellow and skip to the 16:40 minute mark for the relevant comments.

Sooo....speculation? Is Layla about to turn Templar? Was she always a Templar spy? Will she do as Alexios told her and start destroying the artifacts? Something else?
Well I remember there were datamined files about Juhani Otso Berg showing up and I think he and Layla fight. Maybe some revelations, especially if the next game is the Vikings one.
I'm just hoping that Layla is able to bring Victoria back. I liked both the characters, so one being dead and hating the other for murdering her is not how I want the game to end.
Well I mean the second episode definitely indicated that Victoria is still alive....for one she wasn't stabbed with staff/spear just smacked with it and when Layla left she specifically said "make sure nothing happens to her" which is not something you say about somebody who is dead. It would be really weird if Victoria is dead because if she is it would be because she hit her head awkwardly on the floor, not by the blow Layla dealt her....and people in Assassin's Creed games don't usually die like that lol. Maybe that's the shocking revelation of the third part....Victoria is alive but then slips on a banana peel and dies....nobody will have seen that coming for sure lol.Originally Posted by LDS_Darth_Revan Go to original post
To be honest, I could not care less what they have in store for the modern day storyline. If they want, they can kill them all, and it would not bother me one bit. The modern day part is nothing more than a distraction from the important part and I could not think of any revelation that would change that for me. Personally I hope that one day they will just get rid of that modern day BS and let us enjoy AC without the interruptions. They do nothing for the game. The characters are boring, just like the story itself. So yeah, they could reveal that Leyla is an ancient goddess and I still would not care.
Not really. Her saying that could be referring to not wanting the body desecrated. We see this in other media sometimes. And there are lots of other things that suggest she is dead. Layla not having relief when checking on Victoria and instead just shock and horror, her saying things like I don’t kill instead of I don’t hurt or she was my friend instead of she is my friend, etc. Also the files as I found in the other thread are titled Victoria Death.Originally Posted by Darth Trethon Go to original post
Whatever files the Victoria Dead are for have not been used yet....her textures are identical when passed out....those were or are likely intended for something else....as we saw in Episode 2 with Brasidas' head on pike that likely relates to something else entirely like a hallucination. Not to mention that if Victoria is dead then it is an accident at the absolute worst....Layla snapped and hit her but she did not outright attack Victoria nor did she strike to kill. If anything Layla will likely have to deal with the fact she snapped hence the "was" bit....she was Victoria's friend but likely no longer....because she snapped and hit her and knocked her out and people don't usually remain friend after something like that. There's no substantial evidence pointing to death but there is substantial evidence pointing to her being alive.Originally Posted by LDS_Darth_Revan Go to original post
Well if you look at Odysseys Story you will see that the Important Part is the Modern Day Story. The Journey and the Fate of the Eagle Bearer is to keep Atlantis save and give the Staff to Layla in the Modern Day. All 3 Endings led to this, The Cult, they Atlantis and the Family Ending. No matter what Family Ending you got the Eagle bearer always want to find out his destiny and these are the events that follow up to the modern day. Every Assassins Creed Story is about that. You play the historical part to find out advantages in the past that help you in the modern day.Originally Posted by Tanja061187 Go to original post
But in One Point you are right the modern day story current AC Games is very poorly handled. They need to improve that parts not to make them optional.
I am excited what Episode 3 will bring us. Because we have now the interesting MD Part since Black Flag. Not as good as the Desmond MD party but definitely better than the "play as yourself" parts.
I agree to an extent that the modern day is probably the more important bit but Ubisoft also made it seem really pointless as well.....if you look at the end of AC III where Demond basically made the choice to save the world in the short term at the cost of releasing a great evil and potentially dooming humanity for good in the long term....and then she just naffed off and was never heard from again. It's like....what? Did she just retire and decided to enjoy life on a beach somewhere or what? So I understand the point of view of just having these games be stand alone stories without the weak modern day trends that will usually be retconned or outright abandoned entirely.Originally Posted by JKAC2013 Go to original post
The MD with Desmond was perfect and the games with him feel liked a build up to something, every game you play in the Desmond Saga feels like a puzzle piece you explore to get all together. Then the killed him off and the modern day went down. Since Black Flag the modern day story lead to nothing and feels pointless.Originally Posted by Darth Trethon Go to original post
Oh and the JUNO plot jo mentioned was finished and I doubt you like the answer. For me this was the biggest mistake Ubisoft did in AC Storytelling. Read the Spoiler for the answer.
