So we finally have the roadmap of July which you can find here: https://www.reddit.com/r/forhonor/co.../july_roadmap/
Thought I'd make a thread about it. There are a few factors that are imo pretty certain: They have both a male and female variation, it's a heavy hero that wields a hammer with a long handle. They're most likely heavies, edgy and are bald (lol).
I have a feeling they'll be based off mythology (or Scandinavian history as both Hitokiri and Vortiger/Erzebet are related to their own culture in some way).
As you can see in the right corner of the picture , it shows the reveal stream that has an icey/watery theme. Why bother mentioning it? Well last time we had a picture of a Sakura tree which both indicated the name of the hero and hinted at a forresty map.
So start the theories! :P
Edit: Well that's definitely not an iceberg, rather a wave. Not sure why It hought that. So it's definitely a reference to the sea. I don't know much about scandinavian culture. My knowledge is mostly based on some YouTuber's God of War playthrough soooo.... In Reavyne's video about the hero he mentions a serpent theme. Could he be talking about "The world serpent"? Where did he get that idea from? There's some drawings on the hammer, but to me they just look like 0's with a triangle in the middle. Maybe he's talking about the handle?
Now i'm uncertain what to expect. The map probably will be near the sea/a body of water like Harbor. So I suppose it won't be a breach map.
Oh we gonna get the reveal stream sooner than i was expecting ! Cool.
About the snake i think Reavyne is speaking about the tip of the Hammer. It look like a Snake mouth.
About the Water, it look like a wave crashing against a rock.
And as the weapon is a hammer and Thor was the god of lightning but also of Storm, this is maybe inspired from this .?^^
I really hope their kit is fully fleshed out. Imo both Hitokiri and BP are very gimmicky characters. BP is a bash heavy hero with a cool flip that's mostly useful in ganks while Hitokiri is a hero based on her hyperarmored first heavy with cool kicks that barely ever come into play.Originally Posted by Goat_of_Vermund Go to original post
I don't know if it's just me but I've actually dreamt about the new Viking hero last week (I usually don't remember dreams) and well I'll just describe what I saw (I'm skipping over the map because it was a new Samurai map which doesn't make any sense at all). In that dream I've only seen the male version of the hero. He had a buch of short hairstyles with different colors and of course a bald option. The longest hairstyle was one that would nearly touch his shoulder (younger face). He looked fairly old (or worn down to say the least). He was pretty buff and tall, I'd say around the size of Raider (m). As much as I try to remember the armor he wore I just can't see it before my eyes anymore but definitely a lot of cloth/leather.
The hammer was actually pretty big (the weapon itself looked to be like 3/4 of his height). I got to "play" him in my dream and wasn't really fond of him, lol. His animations looked a bit like a mix between Shugoki and Hitokiri, he had hyperarmor and unblockable attacks. Can't remember whether he had a new mechanic, I doubt it.
It'd be crazy weird if that's how he turned out to be. I doubt it tbh. Last time I dreamt about For Honor, I was playing breach on a new Asian map (really pretty map, sort of like a big park + castle complex) with supposedly the new Wu lin hero (f). I've dreamt about future games before and mostly they didn't come true (for 100%) so don't take this as evidence LOL.
That's a great quote. Not sure if I stand by it though. I've managed to completely control some of my dreams before by being aware I was asleep. Nonetheless it's a beautiful and interesting quote.Originally Posted by garr1999 Go to original post
Anyway I thought I'd mention the dreams because I don't have them often and they felt more real, the colors were pretty vibrant and printed in my memory.
I also really liked the maps I "saw" which is why I've mentioned them in a previous post/thread.
Moving on from the psychic stuff and back to For Honor..
I've been thinking.. and this could theory could be something ridiculous, but I'm going to share it nonetheless.
I've seen people commenting that the harbingers are based on the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse but I think it's more based on the elements.
So what if the 4 harbingers are based on the 4 elements (Fire, Earth, Air, Water)?
BP would be Earth because he came out of the shadows (from a cave)
Hito would be air because of her ghostly appearance and whisper like voice
The viking hero would be water because of the image on the roadmap
and that leaves the Wu Lin to be "fire"
Its gonna be either a Jotunn or a Thor inspired heroe.Originally Posted by Tyrjo Go to original post
It depends if the devs prefer to be on the Giants or on the Gods side ^^
