    PTS Exotic change criticism.

Exotics being max rolls automatically, makes exotic drops in heroics pointless. You have to own the exotic, in order for it to drop. But if you own it, there's no reason to want another one since rolls are all set in stone now.

I was excited to see a reason to play heroic missions, but in the same patch they also make it pointless, putting heroics straight back to where they are now, unrewarding and pointless. On top of this, this change will also make exotic components worthless.

As it stands currently, exotic drops are exciting, even if you already have that exotic. It means you can re-roll your favorite exotics, and push closer to a perfect roll. I understand that people think there is too much randomness in gear drops right now, but this was one of the few, semi-guaranteed ways to try and upgrade your gear.

Farming exotics to upgrade your favorites would be easier than ever if they simply added them to heroic drop tables, but reverted the change of exotics always rolling with max stats.

you are criticizing something that is only partially revealed. PTS is a test of the system, not a full implementation.

It's in the PTS patch notes, and they're asking for feedback. What better time is there to give this feedback?

You are wrong it’s been revealed. The op makes great points that I fully agree with.

They seriously need to fix the bug for them in order to have this implemented. Some of us out there have no RNG % available if we have any exotics in the inventory. I've made several threads about this & even one with the Merciless' mods stuck in my mailbox.

Implementing this drop seems pointless without making them all available. Some of them are locked behind content & RNG %.

Well you guys know what's also in the patch notes?

The ones that come from crafting quests (like Nemesis), must be first acquired before they will drop from bosses. This is another way to get to max gear score exotics.

Pay attention to the underlined part... If you craft a Nemesis at GS490 you will be able to drop a GS500 Nemesis from a Heroic Mission so you don't have to spend materials to upgrade it. It's simply another way of upgrading those exotics to GS500.

Feedback is great but please give valid feedback on what's actually the case. Giving feedback on Patch Notes is not a great idea because they might include mistakes or leave out other things by accident which make a whole point invalid as it counters that effect etc.

Just wait until the PTS drops and give feedback on what you experience. If you want to give Feedback on the Patch notes you can give feedback on it's formatting and grammar, that's pretty much the only things you should do prior to the actual testing.

My criticism is still perfectly valid. It's already really easy to upgrade to GS500, so using this to make heroic missions rewarding is still pointless if exotics will also have max rolls automatically. I don't need to play the patch to see that these two changes at once practically cancel each other out, and put heroic missions straight back to being unrewarding again. Do you want me to go and loot an exotic i already own and have zero use for before posting feedback?

Your argument doesn't make any sense.

Not all activies will drop 500 guaranteed exotics from what i understand, so this is a free way to make them drop at 500 or get crafting material to upgrades others you don't have at max gs

Considering how few exotics are in the game, and how easy exotic materials are to farm already, heroic missions are going to either be instantly pointless again, or VERY quickly become pointless again (depending on whether you actually need to upgrade anything.)

As it stands, TU5 will have a distinct point where exotic materials become worthless, and by extension, exotics as a reward will also become worthless. Plenty of players will START this update at the point where exotic drops are meaningless.
