I did add the enemy tiers in the list. I thought the RPG elements is just okay, but I suppose they put them in the game so it wouldn't be too identical to Far Cry 5. I could imagine low tiered enemies are piloting buzzers and driving trucks while high tiered enemies are piloting attack helicopters and driving Humvees. New Dawn's tiered vehicles and weapons were more or less reskins with added attachments and upgrades. As for New Dawn's 4 water vehicles, only the highest tier vehicle is new and unique. In New Dawn, I think the 3 different tiered helicopters fits your description of tiers. They sort of brought back the gyrocopter from Far Cry 4 to New Dawn, only that it looks different and has a second seat. The next tiered is an unarmed helicopter and the final tier is an attack helicopter.
The enemies in Far Cry Instincts all had distinct appearances, each carrying a specific weapon. You'll see mercenaries carrying MP5s while Spec-ops are carrying assault rifles with a grenade launcher attached to it. The enemies you fight at the end of the game carries M294 LMGs.
I concur. The healing animations are gruesome and immersive, and I wished it was brought back. There are only two reasons I could think of why they simplified the healing system to just bandages.
- If you're out of syringes, you have to perform self-surgery multiple times to get back to full health. I'm assuming that excessive healing is a nuisance to gameplay, especially if you're playing online multiplayer. Even with the self healing upgrades that allow you to recover more health bars, it still interfered during combat. When your health is so low, you have to heal multiple times. You get shot a few times and then you're almost dead again. Players healing themselves to maximum heath that is limited to first aid kits is probably better for gameplay. This increases survivability where healing is no longer a burden.
- Using syringes on yourself has a short animation, so you instantly heal yourself to max health. Applying medical tapes and bandages requires some effort, so you have to see a longer animation before your health is full again. This gives the player no choice but to take cover in order to heal, as opposed to being a bullet sponge. If you're not getting shot, your health regenerates without any animation.
They did remove a lot of things in Far Cry 5, and I'm assuming that is for balancing purposes and making the game more difficult. They removed some features and altered the gameplay mechanics a bit so people wouldn't accuse Ubisoft deliberately 'recycling' and 'copying and pasting'.
How extreme are we talkin' here?Originally Posted by jackwl89 Go to original post
A range from light rain to heavy storms with thunder and lightning, maybe hail and heavy winds at worst. I doubt the Dunia Engine can render a tornado causing destruction.Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
It doesn't mean they can't update the engine. After all, Far Cry 6 will most likely be in Project Scarlett and PlayStation 5. It would be interesting to fight enemies in flash floods caused by hurricanes, and you would have to use water vehicles instead of land vehicles. Seeing how Far Cry New Dawn made Hope County unrecognizable, people are still familiar with it. Seeing water currents wash away vehicles and debris would be a nice touch. If the prepper stash in Dutch's island is any indicator, they could easily raise the water level. I've mentioned before that I would like to see a volcano eruption for a Far Cry 6 ending, since they pulled it off with nuclear bombs. I would love to try and escape flowing lava.Originally Posted by Unsaneboi Go to original post
i do think there can be to many guns we do not want to dilute the selection so haviing every gun from every previous game would be to many
we should have more than what far cry 5 had but less than all the weapons they ever had maybe like 2 more weapons for each class or something but i think as far cry 5 demonstrated the assault rifle and shotgun weapon classses are in dire need of some fresh options
I really hope they will update the Dunia Engine, so it gives the potential to add more complex systems and gameplay mechanics. I have my hopes pinned this time since they already released 4 total Far Cry games (2 main installments and 2 spinoffs) on current gen consoles. If they want the series to evolve, they'll need to make the next title a next gen (Xbox Scarlett and PS5) game.Originally Posted by KrayZee_ Go to original post
I updated the list again. I added extreme weather, special outfits from basically almost every character in the series (I'm not including characters' outfits that can be made with what's already there in Far Cry 5), map creators locking their maps so no one else could edit (as well as give permission to a friend to edit and publish the locked maps), and using the Silver Dragon knife from Far Cry 3 as a potential melee weapon that you can swing, throw or for enemy take downs.
