You'll have to excuse me, I threw up in my mouth a little at the thought of them using the tiered weapons / enemies in a mainline FC game, haha. I don't think it really matters about the precedent set by past games when it comes to adding dismemberment to the game. It's something they can to decide to add, and all I'm saying is it's on my "wishlist" of things I'd like to see. I feel like it would only serve to improve the game/ franchise. Honestly, it's laughable that it took them until Valhalla to add decapitations/ dismemberment. IMO, if you make a game where base combat is oriented around swords / axes, and you DON"T have dismemberment and decapitations, you're just wasting time, that's just a dumb thing to do. FC isn't a sword based melee game, but I'm just pointing to Ubi being silly with the AC series for so long. I don't particularly care for the direction they've gone with the AC games as far as how combat is handled now, but the decapitations made Valhalla's combat better than what I played in Origins (I skipped Odyssey).
Anyway, as for FC, I'm really hoping the weapons situation isn't as bad as I'm kind of assuming it will be. I'm waiting to see some gameplay, but I'm a bit anxious about it because I think the makeshift weapons thing sounds really dumb and I want to like this game but if we're using muffler guns half the time I'm gonna be really soured on it.
I wouldn't want tiered weapons either but there has to be a reason why there are makeshift weapons. It's not like they'll bring back Far Cry 2's weapon degradation exclusively for makeshift weapons.
Judging from this trailer
If they are showing pikemen during the Spanish colonization of Yara, it is possible we may use swords, axes and of course, pikes themselves. Thanks to Far Cry Primal, we have melee weapons in Far Cry 5 and New Dawn. Some people were left disappointed that we don't use knives in Far Cry 5, but many are satisfied with shovels. Ubisoft listened and now we have one in New Dawn. Since we can clearly use melee weapons while riding mounts in Primal and passenger seats in Far Cry 5, it's not far fetched if we can use swords while riding horses in Far Cry 6. At its core, Far Cry is a first person shooter, but swords are not out of the question.
I think developers should add more secret passages, secret doors or doors that are not opening first, some hidden things in the games.
It will be more interesting to explore.
Moreover, it would be better if during outpost liberation new enemies were passing by, as supply of weapons or goods, for instance.
It will raise tension.
We would know that marked enemies are not all. New may come.
You're crouching, for example, among marked enemies and ....ooops! New truck is arriving full of enemies.
"That wasn't part of my plan!"
I think Far Cry should develop Steath more!
Far Cry should go in stealth, as phenomenon, deeper and deeper.
It will reveal the potential of the game more.
For example, to neutralize an enemy is one problem.
But to hide a body is another.
You should drag the body without being detected - you should hide the body.
These two processess could be very exciting.
Where will you hide the body???
Body shouldn't be in enemies' field of view zone.
(artificial containers for bodies storing looks awful and immersion breaking in video games)
Outdoors you can hide it in the bushes or behind the tree, somewhere in the corner or around the corner .....the most important - out of enemies' field of view.
But what to do if you're stealthing indoors?
No bushes there.
In this case we should have ability to hide it - 1) under the bed 2) in the wardrobe 3) or in some closet
We will hide bodies there.....
But unpleasant surprise should wait gamers later.
There are beds that don't let to hide the body under it.
Too close to the floor! No space to hide!
"That wasn't part of my plan!" again.
Sometimes it should happen with wardrobes....too many clothes. No space to hide!
Sometimes with closets - they're closed.
The more we play, the farther into the game - the more "That wasn't part of my plan!" should happen.
It will add to the game Unpredictability.
It will make the game more Alive.
So, I think stealth should be developed further in Far Cry.
Not only stealth but outposts as well.
Happy New Year for everyone!
I wish you that this new year will be better than the previous one!
Far cry was always go full canon on the enemy, not stealth !Originally Posted by GameGuru2018 Go to original post
You want stealth ? Go play Ghost recon.
Wrong on 2 accounts. It's wrong to fully quote a crazy long post like that so it's on the page twice, you're also wrong about stealth not being a big part of Far Cry. Maybe you choose not to play stealthily, but myself and many others do. Adding a bow and stealth takedowns to the game have been among the best improvements they've made to the series. A higher degree of focus on stealth gameplay has been a significant factor in why FC3 and the subsequent titles have revitalized the series and to deny that is to willfully disregard what is a fairly self-evident truth.Originally Posted by KmarkoPL Go to original post
I would say FC2 had what was in my view the series' weakest implementation of stealth but it was still a totally viable approach to playing the game. FC2 just had some wonky AI hivemind that made playing stealthily more of a chore than an enjoyable style of play, but suggesting stealth is not a legitimate playstyle for Far Cry is categorically absurd.Originally Posted by KrayZee_ Go to original post

Very wrong.
The most terrible thing that some developers also may think that way.
Stealth - is one the most important aspect of the game. Like shooting.
Ninja style and Rambo style.
Bias in one of two directions will disballance the game.
Ninja and Rambo should go together, hand in hand, complementing each other.
If you played Rage2 you probably realized how important stealth is for the good game.
And you probably realized why Doom can't be open world.
Without good stealth Far Cry will be like a bird with one wing!
And the problem is - stealth is not developing in Far Cry.
Settings change, climate zones change but stealth is not changing.
Sometimes Far Cry is trying to immitate other games, add something new...it is all development outside.
But Far Cry should have development inside as well.
Development in depth.
It should expand its inner world.
Stealth? Outposts? Very good. Develop it further! Don't stop!
Just remember what a wonderful stealth development Kojima has made in MGS5!
Many people called it - next generation stealth.
Why not to develop stealth in Far Cry?!
Stealth development would give big plus for the game.
Playing in the city, among a large number of people, where people are jostling....sometimes you just want to kick someone's asss.
Or just to run up to someone and kick the same place from behind.
Why not to do it in the game?!
We have ability to kick in the game.
Not strong hurtful kick but medium kick - just for fun or something like - "Get out the way!"
Reaction to such "jokes" should be adequate.
Agression or fear.
But such jokes should be condemned by people around.
Your reputation should suffer.
To kick a gangster, for instance, is one thing but to kick a simple citizen is another.
The same with women harassment in the streets.
To slap or to pinch women's a---s should be condemned by people around. Till police calling.
I like how it was realized in GTA5 ....when you're following a woman in the street, for example, she is picking up the pace, saying something like - "O.K! I'm calling the police now!"
Such things make the city itself more realistic and alive.
Developers should think about that.
And about - how far they can go with that.
Where is the red line.
On the one hand there must be some permissiveness and fun, on the other - it shouldn't go too far.
We can't fall to raping people in the streets.
Some things should be permitted and at the same time it should be condemned.
I think it will always be food for thought for developers who develop the game about the city.
