why just so you can be a dork and screw with those who like it? Don't like it done use it.. very simpleOriginally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
Variety. "Your choice" = Must Have fo the game. Freedom.
But!
It must be only visiual part. Smoke and mirrors. The tip of the iceberg. Appearance of freedom. In basis developers should push their own will on the game. Will in which the game will reveal itself as much as possible. They should make gamers to go the way developers want them to go - the only way the game will be revealed completely.
For example, If developers see that only fighting with the squad the game will be revealed in its glory - they must surreptisiously force us to do it.
Fighting alone should be very and very troublesome.
This should apply to everything.
Developers are supposed to say, pointing to many roads - "So many ways! Take whatever you like! Take the way you want! Total freedom!" But on every "not the right road" must be too many spikes in the wheels.
That's why developers should be cunning and sneaky. Snakes of snakes!
Not having an opinion that mirrors your own does not make me a "dork", and as someone who claims to have played the game a bevy of times you know as well as anyone that the GFH system was such an intrinsic part of the entire game that you cannot simply ignore it. Half the main missions in the game are directly related to recruiting them FFS...Originally Posted by crunc01 Go to original post
In the game should be more secret locations! Rooms, doors, cellars.....well hidden. More interconnected passages and corridors.
One, two, or three enemies can hide there waiting for us. Behind the door or in the wardrobe. Not all enemies should rush at us. Among them can be cowards or just sly persons.
For example, you are looting, looting after good shooting one of location.....opening the door and enemy there....shooting at you or clinging to your throat. In this case mini-map will be a spoiler.
We shouldn't know in advance that behind the door is a danger.
I think game must get rid of all kind of spoilers. Everything that makes the game easier. But at the same time game shouldn't be masochistic. Like Sekiro, for instance.
Game must get rid of any thing that can be used by gamers as cheating. Something that will make walkthrough much easier and less challenging. It can be some advanced weapon, help, armor, easy money....
(For example, in Borderlands3 they gave us that tank - Iron Bear. It was funny for some time but it made walkthrough less challenging, that it could be.)
Phrases like - "It is optional. Don't use it if you don't like!" are not serious. People always use "minimum effort - maximum result" tactics. It's in our blood. And people will use all these possible cheatings.......spoiling the game for themselves. That's why developers should cut us off from all possible cheatings in the game!
I'd like to see more work put in to making the shooting aspect more intense. I think they should wholly embrace the M rating these games always get and up the violence and gore factor to give gunfights a higher degree of impact and overall better sell the idea that we are in danger.
I'd like to see the game continue to iterate on mobility and navigation.
I'd like to see them return to an XP based progress system. I didn't mind the challenges and wouldn't mind keeping them, but I think rather than a challenge rewarding skill points entirely they could just reward us with large amounts of XP or maybe unlocks of skins or even specific weapons or something.
I'd like to see some skill trees that don't suck again.
I'd like to add about Dunia Engine and nature in the game.
It's clear that the engine needs further development. Dynamic weather and so on. But to be more specific.....
1) WIND. Far Cry 5 nature was beautiful but very static. Flora: treez, bushes, grass....everything seemed to stand still, frozen. It immediately catches the eye! Not good. In New Dawn was better. There was wind. Wind is very important for nature. It moves clouds (otherwise it would rain only in one place), carries plant seeds over a long distance, clean the air (blowing away car gases, factory smoke).... Without wind, in the game, nature looks artificial - with wind nature looks alive, it is moving, dancing.
2) INSECTS. Also very important part. They are everywhere! 625,000 species of insects - and there is no hope that all species will ever be described. Their importance in nature can't be overestimated. Soil formation, pollination, food for other small animals.... I think, to be more alive, Far Cry nature needs them.
There are bees, butterflies - vey good. But game needs more...
a) Beetles. Bugs. Different types. According to setting.
b) Ants. Anthills.
c) Spiders, Spider webs.
d) Flies. Dung flies buzzing near the ear.
e) Grasshoppers. Locust.
f) Bumblebees.
3) AMPHIBIANS AND REPTILES. Frogs, salamanders, worms, lizards, turtles......
4) RODENTS. Mice, rats, squirrels, beavers....
All these little things will make Far Cry nature more alive. Better.
May be some other shooter needs all this stuff as dog needs fifth leg. But not Far Cry! For Far Cry nature is important, how it looks like, how do we feel there.
Most important gameplay change for FC6; fix the damn spawning and despawning of situations, npcs, animals, vehicles etc. Enemies can appear out of thin air sometimes a dozen meters away. Trigger distance for spawn and despawns should be 200 meters. Not ****ing 20. To compensate for spawn rate I guess, add more convoys, patrol groups to fill the action gap.
^ The fact this hasn't been remedied the slightest with a patch in either FC5 or FCND feels pretty weak. This spawn and despawn mess is by far the worst immersion butcher.
