Far Cry needs less humor and more intensity and seriousness.
Comic relief. He's even on Far Cry Primal.

Today Far Cry is more like Comedy. Fun, humour, laughter....
    Its mood has changed.

I think developers will move in this direction further.
They should add more good music! Different music. More memorable missions. Explosions, dynamysm...
Comedy is good, but not enough. Comedy + tragedy is better. Laughter and tears. Like in Chaplin movies. Laughter through tears..or tears through laughter.

Far Cry should be like a good videoclip.
Comedy, tragedy, villains, missions, fighting, shooting.... in the beautiful nature.....mixed with beautiful music.
Far away flamboyant adventure. Better exotic.

Game should make noise. A bit scandalous. But it shouldn't be banned. On the edge. Raising serious issues. Global issues.
Setting of Far Cry 6 will reveal it more!

If Far Cry is "meant to be about comedy" like you're saying, then you might as well throw out the whole "alone with only your knowledge of survival against mother nature, animals, and humans" theme that the series has always been about about.

The comedy MUST be toned down. Too much comedy = BAD
You would essentially be destroying the series tone GameGuru2018.

I like some controversy since many FPS and open world games have done it before and did well, and I believe North Korea or China would fill that role very nicely.

Totally disagree with this. It's largely the games sense of humor that made me love it so much (amongst other reasons ofc).

Far Cry has become about parody and tongue-in-cheek commentary.

Since FC3 poking fun at the white savior narrative of other games, or FC5 mocking redneck culture, it's the humor and parody that are making FC games what they are.

FC isn't a franchise that is primarily about survival or military tactics (buy ghost recon games if that's your thing).

I think this is why so many people get upset. They expect 'serious' from a franchise which isn't serious.

I'm not saying the comedy needs to be completely absent. I'm just saying Ubisoft should just not go overboard with it to the point where its affecting the writing and character development in the story. Plus I wrote it that way so it could be something GameGuru2018 could understand

I'm all for having some wit and humor in Far Cry in different forms and ways. I just miss the old days with Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3's stories where you truly felt completely engaged knowing that you truly are fighting both man and mother nature to survive and overcome your hardships. That's the kind of story and atmosphere I hope will return in future games. In terms of humor, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, and Primal did it just fine. For me, Far Cry 5 took it too far in multiple areas, which I felt hinder the story development in some ways.

yes i can agree that far cry 5 tries to hard to be funny game and fails because they try to hard to be funny

the laughing should be less obvious then they have been trying to make it

hurk has become eye rollingly annoying no longer really funny because you can tell with every line he says they are trying to make the player laugh

There's absolutely no humor in Far Cry Instincts, Far Cry Instincts Evolution and Far Cry 2, unless you're eavesdropping the enemies' conversations. As for Far Cry 1... well you can laugh at the voice acting. You could even laugh at how fast they talk in Far Cry 2. Besides Hurk, the only humor in Far Cry 3 is likely to be dark humor. Jason would say 'His name is Buck and he likes to'.

In general, I don't find Far Cry 5 to be a humorous game at all. It's just a handful of characters you interact with due to their personalities parodying people in real life. Zip Kupka is a parody of conspiracy theorists, especially Alex Jones. Hurk Drubman Sr. is a parody of republicans. Guy Marvel is a parody of B movie film directors. Adelaide, Sharky and Xander are stereotypes. Almost every other character in the game isn't part of the humor. Even Casey Fixman isn't a comedic character, he's only there to represent actual people from Montana genuinely eating bull testicles. I wouldn't even consider Tweak to be a comedic character either, he's only there to explain the purposes of homeopathics in the game just like Dr. Alec Earnhardt is for Far Cry 3. In real life, drug abuse is a serious problem in the world and in the United States itself. I actually think Far Cry 5 has a much darker tone than Far Cry 3 ever did. Yes, Far Cry 3 brought the topic of human trafficking and insanity into the series, but Far Cry 5 goes beyond all of that.

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is the only game in the series that is dedicated to humor and jokes.

Humour itself - is one big issue. What is humorous and what is not? When it's not humorous anymore....When to stop? Why something that was humorous yesterday is not humorous today?
I agree with St.Million and partially with Unsenboi.
There is nothing bad in humour...but game shouldn't turn into one big circus and clowning.

I don't want people start treating Far Cry like this.......

Far Cry 5 tries to be funny and does include countless stereotyping, but in the end it just didn't sit well at all with me. In the end, to me it isn't at all funny. It tries to be and ends up just using stereotypes and unfunny dialogue. Far Cry 2, 3, and 4's humor worked just fine. I believe that even though stereotyping is one of Far Cry's traits, Far Cry 5 just made it way too obvious and boring by trying to hard to make it noticeable instead of using it in a clever or convincing way. As a whole, the series should go back to its roots and examine what it did well and enhance upon it.
