    Don't overestimate your expectations.

Better yet, don't expect much, you will not be disappointed

Seen that in CP2077 forum, and what people got ? Pile of bugged garbage.
I blame gamers and executives for pressuring game developers to release the game in its current state. The level design is actually top notch and high quality. The graphics, voice acting and story are really good. There's a lot of content in the open world and I'm getting gameplay vibes such as Far Cry, Fallout/Elder Scrolls, Splinter Cell, Hitman, Watch Dogs, Borderlands and GTA in one game. Yes, the game is glitchy. I'm playing it on PC and it's nowhere near 'garbage'. The game also runs fine on my Xbox Series X.

Like any game, I don't set expectations and I don't spoil myself by knowing how the game functions before the game is released. I tend to avoid trailers, articles, reviews and other people playing the game so I can enjoy the game more. So far I'm not disappointed.

For me it runs really well on my X1X as well, though I've seen some bugs and it's crashed a few times, but I've played buggier games for sure, Watch_dogs and a few Assassin's Creed titles for example....

    Without promissing people too much.
practically non existent marketing is not decent marketing so far all they have done is announce the game with a cg trailer as of 2013 the marketing for cyberpunk was exactly the same

part of problem with cyberpunk was revealing it to early now people talk like game was in full development that whole time

i do hope we start to see some marketing for far cry because it is likely less than a year away and if xbox store listing is true it is less than 6 month away so they will hopefully show it soon so we can get idea if we like direction they go or not i am hoping some of the lame things in 5 are removed

The same marketing? Are you kidding?

    It was everywhere!

    https://s8.gifyu.com/images/cbp116.jpg

With the same meaning ( this may be the most humble)

    Over-Hype is always bad!
    It's not wise.
    Over-Hype is distructive!
Because you give people excessive expectation. You're setting them to something that won't happen.
You sow future dissapointment in them. Future negativity and dislike.

    Especially in game industry.

You can make some money in short-term, because of the hype, but in long term you will lose.

Those "genius masterminds of RPG world" have made the game where dialogue option just doesn't make any difference.
We're thinking and suffering - what answer to choose....but it doesn't change anything.
So, why that option? For what?
To pretend - it's an RPG. "Don't you see how non-linear our game?!"

    It is nothing but Fraud.

What about music in the game?
    It's just awful.
"Bam-bam, bam-bam", both during the shootout and on the radio.

What about atmosphere? I mean good cyberpunk atmosphere.
    Past century.
Where is deep division among people and social crysis?

    Secondary missions are the same.

    What about stealth?
    Like from the 90s.
    Cyberpunk - means mostly stealth.

I was tired to gather enemies in the boxes. (it absolutely breaks immersion)
Because if you don't put enemy in the box for a certain time - "body detected". Even if you hide the body and it couldn't get into the enemy's fields of view.

Enemies in the game have very limited range of chasing us.
I can easily run out of that range and they stop attacking or chasing.
I can run out, heal myself, return and shoot. Run out - return - and shoot, run out -return and shoot.

This shouldn't happen in Far Cry!

    What about AI?
Better not to remember it at all.

The same secondary missions. The same outposts. Again and again.

    What about sights and scopes?
They hide the entire view and don't let you to shoot properly.

We haven't got even a flashlight.
And this is a game about future!

    What about the difficulty ballance?
On hard level we need two or more clips into the enemies head to kill them.
The game should be played on medium.

Open world in the game = Mistake.
Without it the game would be better.

Crafting in the game = Why???
    It has no sense.

Did developers of the game discuss the game at all?
Did they gather all together? Did they think deeply about the game?
    Doubtfull.

We touch Cyberpunk 2077 targeting Far Cry.
This shouldn't happen with Far Cry 6.

    The same with the marketing.

Far Cry is a serial game and we know what to expect, approximately.

Developers, if you're not sure that your marketing movements will not harm the game - don't do it.
Sometimes better to do nothing than to do something wrong.
Or to show something that will have negative impact.

    Trailer was very good.
Some negative attitude to gameplay or to something else may spoil everything.

One drop of poison infects the whole tun of wine.

This thread is about Far Cry and so is this forum. We shouldn't even be discussing Cyberpunk 2077 here because it's off topic.

and clearly my point was misinterpreted which lead to insane long rant that had a lot of words but did not actually say anything

forgive me i forget that rational discussion with this person is not possible

i am still hopeful that far cry 6 will also contain an improved assortment of new firearms to use and that all the games new weapons will not be the hand made type ones we have seen

i am also hoping to see perhaps some new movement ability like a dodge or dash move as i have enjoyed those in recent games like doom and rage 2

Even Cyberpunk 2077 has dodge mechanics.

I doubt the enemies in Far Cry 6 would be using makeshift weapons in terms of story context. I know that Far Cry 4 had the Royal Army and Royal Guard, where the Royal Guard are better equipped. If the initial enemies you fight against happen to possess makeshift weapons, then it's likely the elite enemies who are defending Antón Castillo will have actual weapons that are manufactured.

No,no.....Cyberpunk 2077 is not off topic. It doesn't derail the thread ot something irrational.

Every game is a teacher for Far Cry developers. (Especially big open world 1st person shooters)

    And Cyberpunk teaches a lot!

As for me, I don't want to see its mistakes in Far Cry 6.

First of all, the game is very disballanced.
I can easily burn enemies from afar using scripts, for example.
I can break in with katana or bat and take down the whole gang.

I can save the game after every enemy neutralization.
    Such things spoil the gameplay.
In dangerous zones, with enemies, there should be no possibility for game saving.
    It will add adrenaline!

There is no possibility of customization in the game, later. Haircuts, tatoo....
That weird dickkey customization, in the beginning. For what purpose?

Customization - is a big probem for 1st person game itself.
    Because we don't see ourselves.
Three things can help - 1) mirrors, 2) 3d person cutscenes and 3) The attitude of other people, their reaction to our customization.
Mirrors where awful in the game.
I think in Far Cry should have better mirrors and reflection.

Too much money in the game. Overbundance.
We should make money in the game to spent it for something useful.
There should be no extra money in Far Cry.
We should be happy with every dollar. (or local currency)

There is no good police chase in the game.
Police chase and shootout are integral part of mayhem in the city.

Good Mayhem - is a heart of successful game, about city.

When you get in the car all children in the street dissappear.
There should be another solution to avoid children killing in the game.

Most of the buildings in the game are just Decorative Boxes!
    Boxes where you can't enter.

I don't say that we should have ability to enter any appartment and any apartment should be unique with unique side quest waiting for us there.
    It's impossible even in reality.
But some interaction with buildings should be.

Instead of spending money on marketing it would be better to spent it on the open world!

    Their open world is Dead.

That useless apartment of ours....It doesn't make sense to visit it.
That useless snack bars at every step.
That inventory filled with useless food.
Those NPC, standing and talking to each other, the same things, again and again, the whole game.

Those perks, like pistol damage increasing by 3%.....What is that?!
Is it a joke or a mockery?

Sometimes there is a feeling that the game was made by schoolboys, at recess, just for fun.

All these mistakes shouldn't be repeated in Far Cry 6.
Comparing two games people should see that Far Cry's open world is much better, more thoughtful and it's Alive.

    Returning to Far Cry 6.

If it's some kind of Alternative Cuba in the game...

I think some fog, mist, should be added.
    Tropic moisture.
    Its flora needs water.

In the morning, in the mountains, for instance.

Something like that. (These are Cuba's photos)

Yeah, Cyberpunk has dodging and dismemberment, 2 things I'd love to see in FC!

From the little I've seen said on the subject, I got the impression it's not so much the enemy's weapons that are cobbled together and more our allies, the rebels, giving us the makeshift armaments. I just hope that we're able to take and customize enemy weapons and that they'll drop a large enough variety of them that I won't be forced to use the makeshift ones the whole game because I think they look goofy and, to me at least, don't seem like a ton of fun to use. I mean, the saw blade launcher in New Dawn was kind of fun to use once or twice but I was over it quick tbh. I don't want a game where I'm using silly "weapons" like that the entire time.

The biggest potential problem I foresee is just a lack of weapons I'll want to use. The enemies in FC don't actually carry the game's full armory, it's typically just one or 2 of each weapon type, so I am just waiting to find out if all the weapons in the game that aren't dropped by the enemies are going to be these silly muffler and nail guns or if there'll be some reason or point in the game where we get access to some proper guns beyond what the enemy is dropping. I mean, to me, these weapons are just corny looking and I do not want to be using these goofy things any longer than I have to.

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is the only game in the series that has dismemberment. There is some potential that dismemberment may return to Far Cry. The most recent Ubisoft games that featured dismemberment are Assassin's Creed Valhalla, For Honor and the South Park games. Although The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole technically do not count since they are 2D. The fact that Assassin's Creed Valhalla is an open world game that features dismemberment, I'd say there's room for possibility for Far Cry 6. We have to keep in mind the lack of dismemberment could be an artistic choice so it wouldn't be too taxing on the game engine in the last three generations. Since we just entered the era of Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, I hope they will take advantage of the new hardware. There are notable cosmetic differences in Far Cry 4 if you compare the Xbox One version and its Xbox 360 counterpart.

The Saw Launcher in New Dawn should have at least featured some form of dismemberment like what we see in Unreal Tournament's ripper and Half Life 2's gravity gun. It would be nice if the disc launcher in Far Cry 6 would have that kind of function.

I know that in Far Cry 1, Far Cry Instincts and Far Cry Instincts Evolution, the enemies are equipped with every weapon in the game depending on the enemy type you encounter. Since there are no weapon shops in these linear games, it would be pretty pointless to have unused weaponry. They definitely increased weapon variety by adding shops in Far Cry 2, but it's more fixated towards the player. There's a Far Cry 2 mod where enemies can be seen using the flamethrower against you.

New Dawn's lack of weapon customization is one of the main criticisms we all should be aware of. The emphasis on weapon customization seen in Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon, 4 and 5 is pretty much a staple in the series. I can imagine manufactured weapons with makeshift attachments could be a thing, or the other way around. If tiered weapons are making its return from New Dawn, it could be the complete opposite in Far Cry 6. If manufactured weapons are tier 1 in their rusty form while makeshift weapons are at a higher tier, manufactured weapons could be the highest tier in Far Cry 6.
