I would suggest to wait for official informations.Originally Posted by Unsaneboi Go to original post
Even if some rumors are from a source which (maybe) has been right in many cases; the "shared" aspects still stay very unclear; especially regarding the complete picture of a game.
A bit like:
If a game would be a car; and an inofficial source says: That car will have bigger lights - and this source is true (and known as a source with many "hits" in the past) -, well the car realy might have bigger lights.
But: This aspect isn't very important for the designers of the car. The most important aspect is, that it has 150 hp more
Rumors - wrong, but also "right"/"true" ones - can create an inaccurate picture of a game.
That's why I wait for official informations and/or presentations.
The people of Ubisoft have certainly thought about how they can present a new game in such a way that no one gets a false picture of it.
In a world in which people cry their eyes out just becuase they saw a spoiler that wasn't hinted ... - I wonder why so many people want to hear rumors or (supposed) leaks. Isn't that a bit the same thing?!
Do yourself a favor, ignore rumors and leaks and wait for the official reveals.![]()
You think I'd be that naive to think it was legit? Of course not. I look at it just to see at what people claim to find as legit. It gets me thinking as to what-if such so and so is planned. I've known about such obvious things like speculation without believing until release. I was just saying how I would feel if such gameplay options were added.Originally Posted by password1234xxx Go to original post
I was talking with someone about my idea that I already posted into this topic (it's now on page 23 - a separate - of course: smaller - map for the protagonists dreams/nightmares).
We talked a bit about "creative" maps and map designs ("creative" means in this case: not historical or realistic places) - so: ficitional environments, dreams/nightmares, maps for creative DLCs or Spin-Offs etc.
(We had a lot of time because we had to wait on someone who was stuck in a train that wasn't allowed to pass a construction site ... or something similar.)
A few concrete design ideas we talked about are not that important - because there was nothing Ubisoft and also other people could not come to by themselves.
But one thing sounded realy realy interessting and new; at least for a video game.
We talked about Dunia (the "Far Cry Engine") ... and that we hope for Dunia II ... or III (depends on how one count)...
... he mentined the "real tree" aspect of it. It is used for "plant auto repair" (e. g. in Far Cry 2) or in the drug visions Jason Brody got in the "mushroom cave".
Well, we don't know how this aspect could be technical pushed, but for a "creative" environment it could be used like this (- if the engine is able to do it already):
Imagine a valley or something similar on a map, that changes in cycles. Far Cry should have more and stronger weather effects, but that's not what we mean here. Also not the day and night cycle of course. We mean the environment itself. Ebb and flow is a more realistic thing concerning the environment ... but if we look on plants ...
It could be like this: (Example: ) One day this mentioned valley on the map is a rain forest, the next one a desert and the third day grassland with a few bigger trees on it. The plants could grow similar to the already existing real tree effect in the night ... or something similar.
As said, this could be something for a "dream/nightmare" map or a Spin-Off; it is clearly not a realistic aspect. But on the other side, there are a lot of stories ... very old stories, too ... of forests that turn into deserts and then into forests again. Also a few of these stories were used in books (like the "Neverending Story", Michael Ende,1979). But I never saw this kind of cycle used in a video game with open world maps and 'unscripted' (concerning e. g. some main or side missions).
Could be interessting in a tactical aspect aswell: Snipers would prefer the desert to attack an outpost in that valley, stealth players the rain forst at night and assault players grasslands with a few trees as cover ... and burning grass (and flowers)![]()
... and these thigns are only a few examples. A lot of funny and cool things are possible. The only two difficulties are: 1. Can the engine still handle something like this? And: 2. Such an aspect is hard to be placed - even if wanted. It is nothing realistic; ... but why not take the idea of a "dream/nightmare" map of the protagonist?
Yeah, we were today like: Wow, two interessting ideas fit together. Then the person we waited on finally arrived.
(I think: ) Gamers were still in the majority, but we had much more important things to discuss
~

Of course I didn't mean you personally; in a forum I tend to speak to everyone; I only used your input as an example.![]()
Ha, you beat me to the bump, I was going back pages looking for this thread! Lets see how many of our wishes come true! Honestly I'm interested enough in the setting, (little worried about the sparse wildlife, I guess hunting will take an even further back seat this time aye?) Now I'm just hoping primarily for a few key improvements. I want to see the shooting mechanics to continue to be iterated & improved upon, with hopefully some fun NEW additions to the arsenal and fewer recycles (keep that new P226 though, that bad boys my new fav) and a return to expanding upon takedowns. Give us back our blades and stabby weapons, and give us more takedowns to do, preferably ALL with new animations.Originally Posted by KrayZee_ Go to original post
It looks I had some of my wishes fulfilled, like the return to a tropical setting with jungles. If the game is based on a fictional version of Cuba, I’m eager for Cuban military vehicles to appear. Expanding aircrafts and helicopters from Far Cry 5 with equipment provided by the soviets and modern day Russia. It’s interesting that they renamed Guns for Hire to Amigos. There are ‘Buddies’ in Far Cry 2 and it could be a simple nod to that.
I hope this means we can use APCs/tanks and explore places like abandoned Soviet military bases and airfields. The description on the HK Playstation page says it will have the largest map in the series and have locations to explore like jungles, beaches, and dense cities.Originally Posted by KrayZee_ Go to original post
I hope the fangs for hire won't be a main gameplay mechanic and will just be a minor aspect with new features and fixes. I like it, but only as an optional mechanic that isn't pushed on to the player and promoted as a primary feature. Its cool to use sometimes, but I never really used it in FC5 or New Dawn since I preferred to do things myself or with another human.
There are a lot of mosquitos in the kind of country FC6 is set. So it wouldn't suprise me if something like that is back.Originally Posted by KrayZee_ Go to original post
I agree, I'd prefer the FFH system take a back seat if they insist on keeping it. I'd always get people saying "just don't use them" any time I expressed a dislike of the FFH, but considering that like half the missions in FC5 were related to the recruitment and enhancement of them that kind of doesn't work as a suggestion.Originally Posted by Unsaneboi Go to original post
Tanks will definitely be in the game, so it's likely we'll be able to control them!
Ubisoft TORONTO is the lead developer this time and the game was in development before the release of FC5.
Vira will be happy as it seems weather will be returning!
It is also confirmed that the protagonist WILL have a voice once again (thank god) we can play as male or female, we'll see our character in cutscenes and (apparently) other scenarios (3rd person driving perhaps?) All in all it sounds like there might be some fairly significant changes in this one. Sadly they've not really addressed gameplay specific questions, so I'm still curious about some things. I hope we get a few cool new regular guns and not all just make shift power tools repurposed as weapons.

With Far Cry 5's randomly generated Guns for Hire being implemented as randomly generated playable characters in Watch Dog Legions, no doubt Far Cry 6's randomly generated Amigos will be in the game. It looks like Dani Rojas, the character we play, could be the leader of the guerrillas. Maybe if we surrender in the beginning of the game, the credits roll.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
