    The range of offensive heavies

It's pretty much common knowledge that offensive stance is the only viable way to play highlander. Offensive stance offers many benefits with few disadvantages such as no blocking and only being able to interupt gb with a light.
The kick into grab is possibly the most infamous of his offensive tool kit as it is fairly hard to guess and punishes you with 40 dmg in the face (at least now you can roll out of that sh*t). I'd say that his most annoying thing, apart from dodge recovery, is his raw unblockable heavy. Apart from doing 40 dmg it has possibly one of the most ******ed ranges of any attack in the game and it's possibly the most far reaching non-dash attack. What's more annoying is that the animation of it looks like it should only have very short reach. Okay I see that Highlander has real foking long sword but in the animation he seems he is half-.swording with the damn thing like in his defensive stance light. And what's worst is when you are at the very limit of the attack because it seems like it didnt hit and then BAM the wind from that attack got you. Also in the same scenario the attack is very hard to parry or maybe even impossible at certain range. I think the there are two possible ways to fix this attack:
    1. Straight up nerf the range of it. Not the most inventive or favorable for Highlander mains as they seem to like abusing this way of attacking but it would get the job done with very little effort from ubisoft.
    2. Change the animation of the attack. It would require more effort from Ubisoft's side but I think almost everyone would apreciate the change. Highlander mains would get new animation for their favorite hero and everyone else could now tell from the way that he grabs the sword that the reach is going to be feking ******ed instead of seeming like a short little slash.

I mostly wanted to adress this because I don't think it's talked about all that often and It's easily abusable for Highlander players. If you have any other ideas to fix this or if you think it's alright the way it is feel free to share your ideas. It's not you need my approval but still

I think the HL has a hard enough time landing hits without making it easier to parry and read what he has now.

That's my opinion anyway, he needs a rebalance. He has high damage, but successful hits are hard to come by without landing a kick or throw first. I would accept lower damage for more viable attack speeds. Even on console my lights get parried with him constantly.

I think he's the only character besides Nobushi with 600ms light openers. Hers is top only and Gladiator's chain lights are 600ms, correct me if I got any of this wrong. Honestly, they need to be sped up. Any time I go against a HL that I don't let backstep into offensive stance, I light parry with no issues. Now I will agree his offensive stance heavies have aggravated me by hitting me at ranges that flat out shouldn't have hit me, but he does need better ways of getting his damage in before he's nerfed in any way. Kick/toss is ridiculously annoying and shouldn't give 40 damage for a missed read, and toss has the tracking of the gods even if you do read it, but before that's changed, if it even needs to be, he needs better openers that don't rely on him turning into a ballerina dancing around with super recovery.

Maybe if they changed his offensive stance to be more sustained pressure and actually offensive than just telling you a 50/50 is coming, it would be better for the character. Let HL be aggressive and keep it up without being so punishing to make a mistake against.

I agree with you, it is offensive stance, but feels like defensive stance 2.0.
