I'd like to get everyones opinion on which character is best to use when dealing with light spam.

I got light spammed to death by Raiders and Orochi's yesterday, didn't really have a good answer for it besides using shove with LB to break it up.

What character do you find is best to counter light spam?

That's a bit of a difficult question for me because I tend to just parry people who spam things haphazardly.
But hero wise i'd say your best bet would probably be black prior. Mostly because he can fast flow into bullwark after blocking. Meaning follow up damage isn't possible. And two if said follow up/external attack happens to be an unblockable bash/attack you can flip them for being so brazen.
You really only have to be aware of guard breaks as he can't leave bullwark on reaction to feint into GB to CGB anymore.

Beyond that you could try either hitokiri or shugoki if trading would be easier for you. Goki in particular with a way to heal through an unreactable mix up (disregarding rolls that is.)
both can trade mid combo too but i'd argue goki is better at this. The only other hero that comes to mind is Aramusha. Specifically because he can buffer blade blockade during hit stun to catch a spammed light. But this is vulnerable to GB if the person catches on and feints into GB instead of a buffered combo light.

Other full block moves are pretty bad. Only conq's being slightly notable when you consider it with the rest of his defensive capabilities through option selects.

I may give Prior a go, I have Shugoki rep 8 already but I'm not a fan of his style, in fighting or appearance.

I get the odd light parry but I find it hard to do on console, when I play with a group I usually don't have issues because my friends are in a lower skill matchmaking, but when I solo queue I get matched up with some pretty sweaty players, they throw other attacks but 99% of the time they cancel into lights, so I'm just being taken apart by light attacks.

Raider is pretty bad for it now, I just don't have the reflexes to counter it. I was using WL for his full block but after his latest nerf I don't use him anymore.

Certainly a character with static guard.
Imo BP and Hito are your best picks to deal with light spam.
With BP you can pancake flip them and with Hito you just hyperarmor through everything.

If heavies aren't your thing Zerk might be an option as well.

I'm not very interested in using Hitokiri, to me personally, it just seems like a very low skill hero to use, as well as being unappealing cosmetically.

I'll probably end up trying to get good with Prior. I'm garbo with reflex guard, I don't play any assassins.

I personally don't have much issues with light spam (free deflects OwO, deflected a lightspamming Oorchi 3 times in a single fight in breach today and I still think I'm a bit rusty). Only when the person has an insane high ping. Recently had an Aramusha with 100+ ping teleport all over the map and do heavies faster than actual 'light spam' by say Nuxia. He was really full of himself as well, everytime when he killed someone he'd spam "Sorry!" in chat. I reported him because I'm fairly certain it's not just the ping that allows him to basically parry attacks after they hit him, have 300ms heavies, rise from the dead etc.

I got a bit pissed off so I decided to light spam with Nuxia (glad I picked her). Yup you read that right (I don't like light spamming so you won't really see me doing it at all)! IT F###### WORKED SEVERAL TIMES. LMAO. Got him from 100% health to 0% multiple times with actual light spam. My ping is usually a consistant 15-30 so it's not an issue on my part. I mean like how trash do you have to be to need a lagswitch and then not be able to block ANYTHING. LOL He was a fairly high rep as well.

On topic: Yeah BP is probably your best bet. I however don't like him at all and I feel the same way about him as you feel about Hito. Everyone uses him as a bash spammer and it's like why should I do all these crazy high risk things (pancake flip) when everyone else gets better results by spamming the bash "mix up". errr might pick him back up again to see if my thoughts have changed.
And he doesn't have a deflect so automatically not a main :P

I like gokis asthetic since his newer armor sets were added in. But I ultimately don't play him much anymore because most people I fight just know how to unlock roll against him. And revenge feels all but useless because he has no chase down. That being said he's dumb fun if people play against you.

Black prior is probably a safe bet if your even semi decent reaction wise. He's designed to counter brain dead gameplay and that's a huge reason why I love him.

Poor warlord needs some love.
Even tho hito is garbodar at my level of play I still enjoy playing her and enjoy her asthetic. Mainly because she's a hero designed around executions and that tier 4 is dumb fun.

Conqs zone attack is reslly good against that, i get alot of unintential parries aswell from it since i use the zone alot against lightspammers, you can Also use the fullblock counter if you predict the light attack.

Even on my slowest days, Black Prior barely fails me, bulwark is excellent to prevent spam, you can counter with lights and dodging into the attack, and since most light spammers has no skill, they can't do much with him. Conqueror or anyone with hyperarmor is a good choice too. If you want to play ez mode, pick raider, he would be viable even with a permanently disabled block.

I haven't seen Shugoki's new armor sets yet, maybe I can give him a go too, I tried BP last night, it didn't go great, it's hard to pick up a new character when I'm fighting at the same level I am when I pick my best characters. All night everyone was using rep 30+ characters. I was breaking even on the score board but I need more practice.

I have Conq rep 5, my issue with him is his anti gank seems pretty bad, I can get revenge easy enough but I find that he's pretty bad at fighting multiple people at the same time, not being able to feint is a killer, I get parried all the time with conq in ganks. Even when I just shield bash and use lights, they just dodge, his lights aren't strong enough to do any real damage in an anti gank.

I'm not interested in picking Raider, I don't enjoy games when I take advantage of the most broken parts, then I feel like I'm only winning because I picked him, I get no satisfaction from it.
