Why these Obscure cars deserve to appear in The Crew 2

Last thread, I talked about the incomplete vehicle list for TC2. Now it's time to look at something different: Obscure cars.

There is a reason why I list these vehicles: they are very rare, road-going/concept machines that have either never appeared in a racing game, or have appeared in racing games but very rarely.

I've come up with a list of the following obscure cars, and for each one I'll state the reason why they should be in TC2 in a future update, if ever.

    Let's begin.

    Audi
    - Le Mans Quattro - A concept supercar that forms the basis for the First-Generation Audi R8 road car. Belongs in the Hypercar discipline.

    BMW
    - M1 E26 - A very rare sports car and what spawned the birth of the "M" division. Belongs in the Street Race discipline.
    - M1 Procar - Race car version of the M1 E26. Belongs in the Touring Car discipline.

    Cadillac
    - Cien - A concept supercar with a 7.5 L V12 to celebrate Cadillac's 100th birthday. Belongs in the Hypercar discipline.
    - Cien (Touring Car Edition) - A fictional Race car version of the Cien. Belongs in the Touring Car discipline.

    Dodge (SRT)
    - Viper GTS-R Concept - A concept car that forms the basis for the ZB I Dodge Viper road car. Belongs in the Street Race discipline.

    Ford
    - GT 2002 - Concept car that forms the basis for the 1st generation Ford GT road car and made to celebrate Ford's centennial year. Belongs in the Street Race discipline.

    Jaguar
    - XJ220 - A very rare super car who held the record for fastest production car, at 341.7 km/h. Belongs in the Hypercar discipline.

    Nissan
    - R390 GT1 - One example was ever made, and deserves more time in the spotlight. Belongs in the Hypercar discipline.

    Porsche
    - 911 GT2 (993) - A wide-bodied sports car made to certify requirements for GT2 racing. Belongs in the Street Race discipline.
    - 911 GT2 Race Car (993) - Race car model based on the 993 GT2 road car. Belongs in the Touring Car discipline.

    RUF
    - CTR2 - A successor to the CTR. Belongs in the Hypercar discipline.

    TVR
    - Cerbera Speed Twelve - The world's most powerful road car in the year 2000. Equipped with 2 AJP6 engines joined together to create a 7.7 L V12 producing 799 BHP. The most extreme TVR ever made. Belongs in the Hypercar discipline, a rival to the Mclaren F1.
    - Cerbera Racer - Race car version of the Cerbera Speed Twelve. Belongs in the Touring Car discipline.

    Volkswagen
    - W12 Nardo - Original world-record holder for highest average top speed at Nardó Ring across 24 hours. Belongs in the Hypercar discipline.

All vehicles counted, the list comes to 15.

I am open to suggestions about other vehicles in need of inclusion.

Honda is really lacking. I agree with your post but until they start adding more cars that people actually want we will just keep getting random cars that no one wanted.

Seriously this is the only racing game I have known to have such as short amount of JDM cars.

One Honda ??? They need to add more. It's just frustrating.

If only they didn't remove all the things that made the crew 1 good we would have enjoyed this game more even if it didn't have every car we wanted.

Well, we already sort of do have it in the game. Just customise the 2010 Viper:

Only differences being that the roof is a bit higher and we don't have the roofscoop.

    Ford
    - GT 2002 - Concept car that forms the basis for the 1st generation Ford GT road car and made to celebrate Ford's centennial year. Belongs in the Street Race discipline.
Seems pointless to me. It looks pretty much like the 2005 Ford GT we have in the game.

    Jaguar

    No objections there.

    RUF
    - CTR2 - A successor to the CTR. Belongs in the Hypercar discipline.
RUF and Porsche both appearing in Hypercar seems more than unlikely. They don't like competing against each other in games, so it's either one or the other.
The only exception to this is TC2's Rally Raid discipline, but people have speculated that this is due to Porsche not having any modern car (as in: Porsche's old car can keep up with something modern RUF built).[/QUOTE]

Datwut, the Viper in the two images you're showing is not the ZB I. It's the ZB II you're showing, with smaller red tail lights.

The Ford GT 2002 deserves an inclusion in TC2 because Livery experts can make it look like the Ford GT LM Race Car in Gulf colours, or the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II in the white GT colour scheme.

I don't see a problem with Porsche and RUF competing against each other in TC2. Look at the CTR3 and 3400K in-game; they both don't have proper disciplines available to them (CTR3 in Hypercar and 3400K in Street Race). To suggest that Porsche and RUF never compete against each other in racing games, I disagree, because there is already a Porsche and RUF in Rally Raid in TC2.

Still looks way too similar in my opinion, makes it a waste of money if they were to get the license.

Again, my opinion: it does not. It also looks quite like the Ford GT we already have. Why buy a license for something we already have? The 2005 GT could also get these liveries made for it.

You don't, but Porsche and RUF do. Ever considered why the 3400K is not available in Street Race (matter of fact, they renewed the 3400K's license to include a Drift and Drag version, so it definitely was not an oversight but they purposefully let that one out of the SR discipline) and the CTR-3 is not availabe in Hypercar? Because either Porsche or RUF said so when IVT worked out the licenses with them (I personally believe it's Porsche who said no).

I dont like the idea of overstuffing HC class. Audi LM is slower than 2nd gen R8 in acceleration, and most likely in real top speed too (its paper spec top speed is higher, yes).
In my mind McLaren F1 road car is the one and only 1990s hypercar, a true legend that was in a class of its own. This class is now known as hypercar, but it had no special name back then because there were no other cars like this one.
Others tried but never could beat F1. And its not just about top speed record, this car was the 1st to use full carbon body and a lot of aerodynamic solutions. Only a car that beats F1 in either top speed or some famous track lap time can be considered a hypercar.

It will NOT be a waste of money to include the GTS-R Concept in TC2. Dodge SRT would be more than happy to include their concept cars in racing games today.

The 2002 GT Concept is only around 90-95% similar to the production model, with differences being the front headlights and rear bumper. There is nothing wrong with including it in TC2.

Considering IVT has to buy licenses to include cars, I see it to be a waste to include 2 similar looking cars, especially if they are for the same discipline.

So there are only minor differences, rendering a different car pointless in my opinion.

Not saying I dislike the GTS-R Concept (heck, there's a reason I customised my 2010 Viper to look like that), but it feels so pointless to have 2 super similar looking cars.

Sometimes things just go badly wrong about copyrights.

When its happening on parts it's simple, like we already have JUN parts in game without a JUN copyight logo lel.

I just heard its hard now to get copyright for Ferrari and Prische these days, since some other DEV parts have already bought with price high enough.

    But new cars is always good news, I still think some classic JDM, likeC2, S13, Sileighty deserves to appear in this game since there's so many mountains to conquer in the west coast;

or, some cars that are actually good enough but too "young" to carve their names in history, like: CYAN LYN&KO, the new brand as a coop between Volvo and Geely, the whole brand was just born 2 years ago, for now just have 3 production cars, but had already winning titles in WTCR races.

and also, some country u could never imagin that could actually build hypercars:like Rimac from Croatia and EP9 from China.

these cars could not only open up the garage in game, but may also attract some particular players.

Players means more income, more income means more copyrights, more copyrights means more cars: this is what FH series actually did.
