The "On The Ropes" talent does less damage then stated. With testing numbers to show

I was testing my build that used spotter and on the ropes for the extra weapon damage and went to test out the damage with some friends and noticed a big issues with the on the ropes talent, that it produced less damage numbers then when spotter was active. Seeing that spotter gives a 20% increase and on the ropes gives a 25% increase I knew there was a problem so I did some testing and here are the results.

    All damage numbers are headshots

Base test number no talents active: 67555.8 DMG
    Spotter: 81067.0 DMG
    On The Ropes: 77318.4 DMG

    Spotter: base damage 67555.8*20%=81066.96.
    (A 13511.5 damage increase)
As you can see the results are accurate to what the talent says.

On The Ropes: base damage 67555.8*25%=84444.75
    (A 16888.95 damage increase)
As you can see the results are way higher the what damage you do in game of 77318.4 DMG.

Now see what the outcome of damage you do I have found that when using On The Ropes you are only doing 14.5% increase in damage.

I took the damage numbers I got when using On The Ropes 77318.4 - base damage 67555.8 = 9795.5 which 67555.8+9795.5=77351.

Clearly On the ropes is not working as stated and I hope this is clear detail of the issue and can be looked into. Thanks

P.S all damage numbers are about +/- 100

The two bonuses work differently. On the Ropes is additive while spotter is multiplicative. That is why you are seeing spotter do more.

I don't see how spotter is multiplicative, it's not damage to elites or damage to armor, not even crit damage. It states 20% weapon damage, on the ropes states 25% weapon damage. Plus even if on the ropes and spotter are different to a multiplicative damage, spotter still only gives a 14.5% increase which is no where near close to what it states.

where did you do your testing? (was it a normalized zone?)

it doesnt state it but spotter work as multiplicative which mean it take all your total dmg and multiply it by 120%.
while on the ropes is additive which means it take your weapon dmg modifier adds 125% and than calculate the DTE , head shot dmg, etc...

this is why spotter is better when your weapon dmg is high enough

i did the math and for me it works fine

Just did the same test at the shooting range and can confirm, Spotter gives 20% dmg boost, but On the Ropes only gives about 16.6%. What gives?

So hard to read previous posts?

Spotter is multiplicative, it multiplies your whole dmg, probably because its working as a debuff on enemy.

On the Ropes is just a standard all weapon damage stat, so it stacks additively with weapon damage and specific weapon damage you already have. For example if you have total 60% awd and AR dmg, with On the Ropes active it will go up to 85%. Relatively that's 15,6% dmg increase.

Which is it? In your OP you state spotter gave the correct 20% and on the ropes was giving 14.5%. In your response you flipped it and are now stating spotter is only giving 14.5%.

Anyways. My first response is correct and others have also commented the same.
