does it seem that the only build for pve is max weapon dmg and hard hitting?
almost no use for any active talents is viable
i dont see any skill builds being used like
shield build
seekermine build
firefly - they buff it liitle but still no use
support role compare to dmg role is inferior
shotgun build for close range not being used
sniper is nice but hardly needed compare to the dps of the AR
rifle is still too slow
merciless got nerfed versus bosses (for me the only unique exotic with great mechanism of explosion)
LMG still useable
but again all the pve build use hard hitting and max weapon dmg - so no variation
what do you think?
I think that if your mind set is damage, damage and more damage then you'll never see build diversity because you'll never think to try anything else. There are plenty of viable builds out there being used that are not generic gun dps. You might not be seeing them but I see variety all the time. You're also very wrong about skill builds, but you're not alone in that regard![]()
There are other options, but the best build in the game requires damage, damage and more damage DPS builds. Though I see more players taking cover and using other options, I still see lots of DPS builds running up and face tanking bosses and melting them in seconds.Originally Posted by RichardOshea Go to original post
No hard-hitting on any of my gear pieces -- only a +42 vs. elites mask with Trauma to blind stuff
Build#1 includes Trauma Mask + Berzerk Vest + On The Ropes + Calculated Knee-pads + Clutch Gloves
Build#2 has Trauma or Spotter Mask + Unstoppable Force Vest + On the Ropes + Calculated or Patience Knee-pads + Compensated Gloves
Chem Launcher Heals + Cluster Seeker Mines reset fast thanks to In-Rythm weapons. Nemesis downs most targets in 1 shot.
Solo'd a few L4 control points for the new exotic holster -- now I just have to figure out how to configure the new holster with these builds.
Have to disagree with OP.
In our clan we have multiple players with various builds -examples are Seeker/Turret (Tactician) builds, Seeker/Chem Launcher Healer, Pulse/SMG Builds, Rifle/AR Damage Builds, Shotgun/AR Shield, LMG/LMG Gunner Tank. And this is just from the people in our smallish Clan that I regularly team up with.
The best build in the game is the one that RNGesus ensures that only a samll percentage of players achieve. That alone makes it not as good as one might think as it's not exactly accessible. I'm not talking about talents here but attribute rolls. But that isn't really the main argument against running that build; the argument would be that if every player played that build, or focused only on maximising dps, then you would not have any diversity at all. And that if diversity is what you want then you're going to have to put down the crutch of dps and learn to play other styles of build. There's no point at all in complaining about build diversity if you're not even attempting to build that diversity yourself because of a misguided concern that having less damage than the next guy makes you a worse player.Originally Posted by YodaMan 3D Go to original post
nah, i run a seeker build and its awesome.Originally Posted by Messiah_V Go to original post
10 sec cooldown and 294k base damage. Add in tech support and everything but the first seeker hits for around 400k. Always first in kills in missions when i run with the dps guys. Now this could just be the DPS guys i run with as i never play with randoms but still, its a good build.
