Tips for Solo's struggling with level 4 CPs

I'll add my tips and hopefully others will add theirs so that solo players that are struggling can get through them.

    1. Be selective about which CPs you go for. If you are struggling to clear them (for the Holster project), then try to find CPs that are close to Safe Houses. That way, if you die, you can respawn close and hopefully get back in the fight before your reinforcements are killed.

    2. Equip something to help heal. Personally, I use both the Hive (revive) and Chem Launcher healing. That should be enough to clear the CP (assuming you don't run out of ammo first).

    3. Call your reinforcements in ASAP. I don't know if this is something that happens for everyone, or if it's just my experience, but if you are far enough away (but still inside the controlled area) and call in your reinforcements, the NPCs won't be very aggressive unless you fire on them or change locations (then they attack). So, call for your reinforcements and hold out as long as possible until they arrive. EDIT: Per Motomofo (see below), you can fast travel to your reinforcements at whichever CP you're attacking (if their still alive), by using the green gun icon). I haven't tried this yet, but using this method you wouldn't have to be that close to a safe house as long as your reinforcements stay alive.

    4. When attacking CPs that have mini-guns, take out the NPCs on those guns asap. Others will step up to take their place, but if you can keep those mini-guns cleared, you'll stand a much better chance of staying alive. Ideally, you'd get in cover close enough to use grenades (this is good when an elite NPC is on the gun).

    5. Keep your distance. Until you are confident about being able to take one down, then keeping your distance (using cover) will help pace the mission so that you can finish the CP takeover. It'll take longer, but you'll survive.

The only issue I have as a solo player (against level 4 CPs) is that I run out of ammo. Sometimes you have to risk taking some hits to pick up dropped ammo. Or even make a run into the CP to refill at the ammo crate and get back out.

When attacking a level 4 CP as a solo, if you complete the initial takeover, and die in the subsequent counterattack, when you respawn and get back to the CP you'll only need to fight off the counterattack again (so you don't start completely over). If you die prior to clearing it and all of your reinforcements have died, then you'll have to start over from the beginning.

....and remember, if you do go down dont automatically finish yourself off and respawn. Since a few updates ago, the officer will come revive you if he is still alive.

Wow, that's awesome. So you don't really need to be that close to a safe house, since you can just fast travel back to the CP. Great tip!

    Some more tips:

If you run out of ammo, just teleport to the nearest safehouse to restock, then teleport back to the reinforcements. (Alternatively: evaluate and upgrade your current build)
Revive the reinforcements leader, if he/she dies you need to call in reinforcements again. Also: they revive you as well.
Some control points are easier to attack/defend than others, so be opportunistic and use ones that you feel comfortable with.
Offensive skills (when well specced) like cluster mines and assault or artillery turrets are your friends; they will hit where you have no line of sight and allow you to engage multiple targets at the same time and force them out of cover. For any skil (offensive or heal)l: CDR is your friend.

Not just that one but also green supply convoys. It's a quick to get around the map in addition to completed missions, safehouses, and friendly control points.

I would just like to add: Patience, patience, patience. Find an area where you can't be approached from the rear and hunker down. The enemy will come to you. Also, get some kneepads with the "Patience" talent. It is a godsend for solo players. It's all about patience. This works in the Dark Zone as well. Cover your rear, and you can outlast any onslaught.

Patience is the only active talent I run, the rest are filled with DTE or anything else to up damage output 100% of the time or mitigate it, ie: Hazard Protection.

Consider not employing a frontal assault as the defences are generally positioned for such an attack. If possible approach from tangents and obscured lines of sight. Knowing the layout of a control point from experience of reconaissance will forworn you of possible reaction routes and reinforcement approaches. Never charge into the centre of the CP and expect to survive, that ain't happening.
