I am currently having the issue where I break all of the Basilisk's Armour before neutralizing him and not getting the credit needed to complete the 1st Objecticve of Stage 5 for the Field Research Gunner. It has been happening since yesterday since TU4 was implemented. Following the Field Research "quest" line until Stage 5, I have completed everything expect destroying the Basilisk armour one. I have continuously broken ALL 6 pieces of armour (head, both arms, both legs and torso) but the Objective, Turned to Stone, isn't completed. I do not get the visual error that others have reported of disappearing armour pieces; the armour is visually in place until I have broken it.

I have tried it on Normal, Hard and Challenge difficulty, I've tried it with and without deploying any skills/armour kits/grenades/specialization weapon in any encounter upto and including the Basilisk fight, all with the same result, an unfinished mission and not being able to use the new specialization. I have seen a few others reporting this issue.

For anyone who has managed to complete it, what did you do differently? Is there an order to breaking armour pieces? Specific weapon you used? Etc, etc.

I had the same problem but manage to get it done finally. Apparently there's visual bug making the armor pieces disappear before they actually break. The way I solved it was to keep shooting at the weak points, if you still see blue numbers popping up the armor is still there, but not visually. i can confirm this!

his LEFT leg armor was still there, but it looked like it was gone!

you can also notice how there is a breaking sound when the armor is gone and he will fall to his knees when this happens, also there are the blue damage numbers when there is still "invisible" armor there.

all the other parts worked fine for me, meaning i could destroy all other armor parts and they were really gone, only the LEFT LEG ARMOR was still there.

ok so after 5th try i shot piece by piece and then confirmed with pistol there is no armor and boom got it thats probably best way

Yeap it's visual bug, whenever a piece of his armour breaks he will kneel down, so make sure he kneel down 6 times to confirm that you break all his armour. The leg armour tends to have visual bug most of the time.

I tried it about 15 times before the maintenance kicked in, most times he die to fast. Tried with a pistol and single bullet guns.
Break his armor but nothing. Not gonna put all my time in that one dude. I rather don't play with the gunner then.
The missions you have to do for it are boring enough without this.

Use demolitionist grenade launcher 5-6 grenades , i got him last night.
