Just to confirm for TU12: it appears still that the first part is not guaranteed to drop from the boss at Riverside Gas Station (it did not for me), but parts do drop from some bosses when a level 4 control point is taken. (I received the Fast Leather Belt part from the next control point I took, New Venice.)
As per usual, I made sure that my previous holster was in the inventory of another character, not in my main character's inventory or the stash. The project does not reappear in the projects list, but the parts drop fine anyway.
It was my understanding that the part from the gas station comes from the CP chest, not from any NPC during the takeover.Originally Posted by CategoryTheory Go to original post
Actually, the project eventually did quietly reappear in my projects list. (It also seems to have a "Clear Project" menu item to make it go away, though since it's convenient for me for it to be there I've not tested that.)Originally Posted by CategoryTheory Go to original post
Ah, yes, that could be. I'd thought they all came from the the boss when you take the the CP and defend it against the counterattack, since that's where my first one this time dropped, but I just got my second part (on my sixth Heroic control point) and it dropped from the boss when I cleared the control point, not the boss after that when I took it. So perhaps they even still appear in chests sometimes, too.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
Well, good news: I've confirmed that level 4 control points in New York will also drop parts for the Dodge City Gunslinger's holster. And bad news: I've also confirmed that duplicate parts get dropped. It was pretty frustrating to see a glowing orange exotic drop spire and not be able to pick it up because it was a second Fast Leather Belt.
This part falls again from any CP (from boss), but rarely ..Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
Whoops, no, the original project didn't. The project I saw appear was just a regular old crafting project (created by selecting a project at the crafting bench and pressing Tab); I just didn't understand how that worked. The original projects are:Originally Posted by CategoryTheory Go to original post
- "Holster Intel: Go West, Young Agent." Fetch and donate the Fast Learther Belt by picking it up at the western most control point in DC. Receive the next project as a reward.
- "The Rude, The Bad and the Evil." Get (via taking level 4 control points) and donate the remaining three parts (Ornate Leather Holster, Inverted Leather Holster and Oiled Hammer Guards). This rewards the next project.
- "Showdown at High Noon Saloon." Rewards the blueprint.
This blueprint is not shared between characters when you enable the shared blueprints option; the only way to get the blueprint is to complete the projects above. (Transferring a Gunslinger's Holster from another agent will not make the blueprint availble.) Once you have the holster in your inventory or the stash, the blueprint will be marked as "crafted" and it will not let you craft another one.
Lastly, once your character has had a Gunslinger's Holster, it will drop as part of the regular exotic loot pool. (I just got one today.) This happens even if you don't have the holster in that characters inventory or the stash.
Does anybody know if, after the first crafting of the Gunslinger holster (and subsequently moving it to another character, of course), duplicate part drops are supposed to happen? I'm getting a part for every one in three or four level 4 control points I do (which seems fine), but of the four parts I've gotten, three have been the Fast Leather Belt. (I was unable to pick up the second and third copies of this part.)
