A new hope....

An excerpt....
Key takeaways from the article in total.......most active and vocal players with complaints that its inventory systems are cumbersome, the combat and gear don’t support a wide range of character builds, the special gadget skills players can equip are too weak and the franchise’s first eight-player raid, added last month, was too punishing for players on console.
1. Inventory is explicitely mentioned but drop rates and customization are only implicitely referenced via build limitations and skill limitations
2. A Lean & Agile scrum methodology is being used to deploy enhancements, but no timelines are given (in fact there many references to "these things can take time...").
3. Absence of any visibility to whether or not TU5 will address the loot situation.
Suggestions...
1. People who have concerns about the loot issue should concentrate posting in a single thread (our feedback is diluted by the existence of dozens of threads).
2. We could create a crowd-sourced user story to define what the developers should code to address the loot issue. If I get organized I'll propose a framework; anyone who gets impatient can proceed without me.
For the love of God fix the loot. I understand that not every piece of gear is going to be "God Rolled" but why is every piece of gear "Trash Rolled"? There has to be a balance.
The Negative: The crafting station is useless 490 only with no ability to maximize it gear (never use). The vendors are useless, all gear is way below my current 500 GS (never use, unless I see an attribute I like...very rare). The snitch and Cassie Mendoza are useless (never search for them anymore). What is the point of the snitch? I never received any cards from him, only bounties which yielded more useless loot. Cassie Mendoza is a joke, all weapons and scores are below my current GS. Level 4 Checkpoints are good for about 4-5 pieces of 500 GS stuff but for the time put in it is not worth it. DZ loot drops 500 but there are no gear set items and only 1 exotic that can be farmed. Why? The DZ was the place to go to get exotics and gearsets in the Division 1 outside of a Global Event.
Imagine this: Solo player in the DZ opens a crate after clearing a challenging landmark single-handedly and an Eagle Bearer is in the box...HOLY ****...PUCKER FACTER 3MILLION!!!! His heart is racing as he works his way past all of the Rogue activity and NPCs chasing him from Landmarks to the extraction zone. He hides and waits for a few minutes assessing his situation and seeing who is online to help him get it out of the DZ. He even considers running to the Checkpoint to wait for aid however, there is Rogue activity all around him. He's sweating bullets because there are 2 manhunt teams now jacking other extractions. He sees an opening and pops the flare...enough is enough...its now or never..."Everyone is at work and I need to get this out", he shouts at his TV. The seconds turn into minutes and minutes into hours as he is frantically looking around for rogue activity. A four man group runs up on the extraction and he freaks out and turns to run. One spots him and flags Rogue and gets a couple of shots on him as the chase begins. He is sweating even more now because he knows he is outnumbered and has no friends online. His only hop is to make it to a checkpoint for safety. "Your not going to get me today" as the shots ring past his ears...in his head he knows if he makes the wrong move he is going to be overrun and lose his precision loot. He questions every turn and prays to himself that he knows the DZ well enough to get away...but.....you finish the story...we don't have that anymore!! Where did it go????
Potential Solution: Give us crap gear but give us our optimization station back. Let us roll an attribute and a perk on gear instead of one or allow us to roll two on gearsets (give us some good gearsets first though). Give us DIV TECH back to optimize our gear. Copy Destiny's XIR implementation for Cassie. Get rid of the Snitch all together. We all know how to go outside of the White House every 30m to kill the Bosses. Put loot back in the DZ that is worth farming. Loot caches need to be implemented back in the DZ...why are they missing? Landmarks are boring and for solo players it really gives them no reason to run in guns blazing because they will be cut down because you let everyone know when a Landmark is under attack. Let solo players run around and loot caches and DZ crates as a grey rogue. I used to love opening up those caches to see what I got especially my Banshee caches and my Manhunt caches.
Eventually, not rewarding people for playing your game will push them all away. Time invested is not equal to the rewards (loot) received. I will not continue to invest hours upon hours of my time to receive one piece of gear that I may or may not be able to use. Eventually, I will move on. I am sorry but I will. If players are not rewarded for their time they will go somewhere else.
Thanks for reading this. I love the game and I hate to see people leaving but if the loot is not addressed I am afraid you will not be able to save this game. Just my opinion.
Article is OK.
What worries me - They still don't know what we want. It's like TD1 never happened. The 2 issues they took (PCvsConsole & MM for everything) should have been gained during TD1.
Did the key people who worked on TD1 left company shortly? I hope whoever approves business ideas for this game is not some snob in suit & tie - I hope it's a person who plays this game.
They use the Raid(s) as a framing device/context to talk about things like matchmaking, build diversity, and gear/RNG. What are the topics you feel they don't know about?Originally Posted by Estorius Go to original post

I even reached out to a member of the community team on here to make a mega thread so the community can consolidate all feedback about loot in one single thread. The response was " I appreciate your suggestion" That was that...
1 main topic (from QA perspective) - Testing MUST be done not only for happy path, but also negative testing + boundary testing. For example: functional fix that was introduces few weeks ago where instead of double-click you only click once - which probably fixed whatever it was affecting. But nobody tested other areas of menus where that "fix" actually broke it (made it more annoying to use).
Let me ask you this question - its probably pointed to QA team & overall Development cycle - when players post bugs from PTS side - how long it takes to fix that issue and then push the fix to PROD depending on severity levels: BLOCKER, High, Medium, Low. And how often do you guys come across bug that cant be fix because of the way the system is build.
I find this part of the article ironic considering you were adamantly dismissive to our complaints of the raid being catered toward damage-focused builds.Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
And what about when game’s raid launches and everyone seems to run the same build with the same skills activated? “We’re kind of working on different timelines when it comes to addressing the balancing and producing content like the raid,” he said. “Even if we know there’s sometimes an optimum way to actually beat, that doesn’t mean we should hold onto that content until the balancing is perfect.” (Banchereau also floated that while The Division 2’s first raid rewarded damage-based builds, “maybe the next raid is going to be focused on survivability or skill builds or these kinds of things.”)
Are you for Real - the community has been screaming for months to fix the loot system, fix the crafting stattion, fix the recalibration and it is honestly like talking to a post. The latest patch has adressed nothing, gear drops are still rubbish and drop mostly below GS, it might might drop GS 500 for certain activity but its the same trash nothing has been done to balance the drops a bit more in terms of quality, we dont want god rolls on eveything we just want our time to be rewarded. Crafting bench is still rubbish, can ononly craft to 490 GS or in the case of the HW GS it can craft between 480 and 500, the majority of pieces I have crafted drop at 484, what a joke again the effort required to collect the HW tech and components doesnt = reward. Recalibration is still crap its like a retail store, crafting rolls were secretly dropped a few weeks back only to be slightly raised again.Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
Log in to find my LMG has been nerfed and to top it off you buff NPCs and there their still running around like idiots and were getting 3 shot by reds wtf have you guys done the players are pissed and all you have done is piss us off even more
A. Taking a break means I am looking for another game to REPLACE this one.Maybe, he posited, it would be good for players to take a break and for his own peers to see that as a positive. “One thing that we’re trying to keep in mind is that it’s fine for people to stop playing,” he said. “We’re not telling them you should stay in the game forever. It’s fine for them to stop as long as they are satisfied when they stop and then want to come back when something big is coming.”
B. Not satisfied with loot, progression or difficulty level (after all the nerfs). That is why I am not playing and found another game, this is much different from just "Taking a break".
There are many parts of this game that could have kept me engaged, for a very long time, but those systems failed completely. So now I am "unsatisfied", and not just taking a break.
