You're gonna get the hang of it, do NOT worry about it. You got some good people here helping you now, and I'd always be happy to help on Discord and Custom matches.

If you ever just wanna come chill with me, I'll do what I can to just kinda give a crash course on my personal knowledge of Siege.

One of the biggest things that can help whilst your still learning the maps, say you're on the cams, and you see someone. Use the compass. It says the floor and room name. And don't ping. instead use directions. Never say "Hes to your left or right" because at any moment, the player could change their direction that will get them mixed up. Instead a good callout would be "Jackel, 2nd floor, bathroom, north east side of room". Or just "Jackel, 2nd floor, North east side". if you can see your teammates through the walls, give them a heads up. "Mira, above you, jackel, north east side". Just getting into the habit of using callouts like that will help you greatly. Plane is the easiest to learn, Okay, east side of plane is cockpit, where as west is tail end. From there it is just figuring out which floor they are on. Cargo, Mid, or Top.

Often times when a round starts on the drones on attack. I'll sit and listen, and your volume is all the way up, say I'm on the South east corner of the map and hear NOTHING. No reinforcing or barricading. From that alone I can deduce they're on the opposite side of the map, so the North west side, and a large majority of the time I'm right. But sometimes siege's sound system is quite frustrating depending on the map, border and tower are real pains in terms of trying to listen.

As for roaming, it isn't for everyone. There is shallow roaming and deep roaming. If you like the idea of roaming, try shallow roaming (siting in 1 to 2 rooms away from OBJ). If you feel comfortable with that, dry deep roaming after a few hundred matches. Learning what your strength's are in this game is what will be your key to learning. I roam with frost for christ sake. Someone who is considered an anchor but I just enjoy her kit so much. As well as Ela. Ela with all black, on the map tower, can get some sneaky hiding spots. If you enjoy hunkering down and the "come get me" type of game, operators like Smoke, Mute, and Kapkan are beautiful. if you want to make people uncomfortable. Well, you've already got a good start with Fuze.

Nothing will click immediately with this game, it takes hundreds of matches sometimes due to how your team plays, the enemy, the operators chosen, and if you have a jackwagon who TKs because "Lulz". I don't take teammate comments on aim or skill to heart because in the end, I'm not a pro who gets paid to dedicate 1000s of hours to honing my skills in this game. So take comments in stride. if you play this game for K/D, you'll only find yourself raging because there is a bit of random to this game as well. Wall bangs, accidental kills, etc.

I am a Beta and Day 1 player and strictly play Ranked. Listen it is a grind it is still frustrating for me sometimes. The first thing is when you make the jump to Ranked STAY THERE. Second play to win not for kills. Third know your insertions ( this is we’re only playing Ranked will help). Fourth use your drones and everything in you’re kit.

Thank you and everybody that replied to this thread, but I have decided that I want to take a break from the game, at least a couple of months

Reason would be the simple fact that I am unable to learn, I know what a big learning curve looks like, I play For Honor, currently sitting in Diamond 4 right before Masters. But this is completely impossible. I admire everyone who can actually play the game well, because the game is cool and very challenging. But it is not for me. Before I started playing Siege, I barely had 10 hours in pvp shooters, as I tend to stay away from those, but if in 100 hours I can't at least learn how to aim the gun I'm gonna reconsider the decision of puring time into the game, because in the end I might end up with 1000 hours and sitting in copper, like I am right now

Thank you all for the support, I trained hard, I really did. But when one of my friends who has barely 25 hours into the game carries me and wins 1v3s on multiple occasions, I decided to take a break. Some people are talented, I'm just everything but that. Much much much love. TOCKSY..the Centurion main, signing off

Sounds like you're trash if you brag about killing new players.

But now I know every strat you can name and how to counter it

I'd say ranked is a whole different playground and the fact that you hopped in it is probably why you're frustrated. its a whole different level in terms of expectations as well as skill. I'd start with terrorist hunt as well as casual with friends mind you. Being solo and playing this game in ranked is like asking to put your head in a meat grinder. You don't have to play ranked to enjoy this game.

Sadly there are small minority like SolidSouthCentra who the bane of this community because they enjoy being toxic and TKing people as well as just smurfing to make themselves feel better. I mean he did just say he kills new players for fun. So he smurfs. So don't pay him no mind. Hes not a representative of what the community is like.

I think you are siege material, and you just need to get used to how FPS's work. This yeah, is a pain at times. One FPS game that is a great introduction to shooting is Borderlands 2. The gun play in that game is super smooth and great to play. And its hilarious. You fight a large variety of enemies and you'll learn how to aim real well.
