Before I start sorry, this is going to be a long one..

Rainbow Six Siege has been apart of my daily gaming routine since the days of the Beta. And yet this is the first time I have ever written a thread on the forum.
Since the game launched me and my squad have been playing Secure Are exclusively on Ranked, I've more or less hit Platinum 3 almost every single season with my highest finish being platinum 2. The squad I play with are really not the best bunch of players, but they are my real life friends and what a blast we have had playing siege every single day since the game launched. I've put a solid 889 hours into this game, but this season could be the last.

Me and my group just do not like bomb in the slightest. You could say it's because there are better players and squads on bomb, and that's very fair. But I just can't wrap my head around the decision to take the choice of secure area out of the game, it's now like I'm playing a completely different game and that is not a good thing. Sadly 3 of the 4 I play with will just never be good enough to cut it in bomb. And while Secure Area is available on casual, casual is just not up to scratch. With less rounds, constant leaving and rejoining players it just isn't up to scratch.

This is a plea to the developers. Please give us the option to play Secure Area once more in Ranked. Its like the game I've been playing for 4 years has changed completely and not for the good. I hate pick and ban altogether, and Secure Area is the major factor I have enjoyed this game for such a long time.

So once more please just add the option to make Secure Area Ranked again.

I'd like to sign your petition. Bomb is not really conducive to the solo player either. I get that they're trying to make it more like Pro league, but I'm not a Pro and never will be. If they don't want "ranked" to be tainted by other modes then create a "ranked classic" or "competitive" playlist that just like the old ranked but with an independant ranking.

The thing that just frustrates and baffles me is, if people didn't like Secure Area they didn't have to play it? I don't like bomb this is why I have avoided it for all these years

One thought I had on that though... with the ability to disable modes the rank itself is meaningless. You could be Diamond in Secure and suck at Bomb. So settling on a single mode for Ranked does kinda make sense. This is actually reflected in your original post. You an your friends have constantly been Platinum over the last few seasons, but now when you play Bomb you find you can't compete. That was probably always the case, you just never knew it because you filtered your matchmaking to a single mode. Whatever rank you and your friends achieve this season is probably more reflective of what your actual rank should have been.

That being said I'm not happy with the change either. I always play solo with all modes enabled. Hostage rarely ever came up but there was a probably 60/40 split of Bomb and Secure most of the time. I always did worse at Bomb. Bomb is too team oriented for a solo player. So you either get put on as the 5th wheel on a 4 stack or with a bunch of other randos, neither of which usually turns out very good. Secure can be played much more easily as a solo because it doesn't require as much coordination.

This is why I think they should have an inbetween mode where your rank doesn't really count for anything, but is still used for fair matchmaking, and the rules are all the same as the old ranked.

Its really not a difference. Ive mantained the same rank between the two modes for a long time. That whole arguement is a falsehood. I run into better skilled players in secure but for bomb its not just about personal skill. Its the reason i dropped from being plat consistently to gold and maintain it. Against actual mid golds i can solo carry even in bomb you cant do it at that plat3 threshold and the same applies to secure.

for reference I play PC and have always played bomb in ranked.
If your squad is good enough to make it to plat 3 every season in secure, why not in bomb? The sites are slightly different but SURLY this isn't your issue. If you feel the players that used to go secure everyday are worse than the full time Bomb players, then you might have slightly tougher games but all the people that had played secure in the past will all move over to bomb which greatly increases the amount of trash players.

ANYWAY, please tell me nicely if i'm wrong somewhere and i'm quite sure with the amount of salty players there are that ubi might re-add it back into the ranked playlist.

The post is nothing to do with rank and more to do with enjoyment. Without Secure Siege is a completely different game when you've been playing for 4 years. The way the game mode has been set up is what made me play R6 Siege for over 800 hours. What would your reaction have been if they had removed bomb and kept only secure? As much frustration as ours I'll bet.

I agree 100% with v zodiac , because "compelling" people to play bombs when 95% do not aspire to the competitive ?, I think this is a step back for the improvement of the game

I've been a secure player for most of the time in the last 4 years and I miss secure on ranked as well

I have been playing since release as well. Many of us have. I avoided bomb at all costs after people started abusing the meta and Ubisoft shortening the time of a round . It's a completely different experience without that abuse and quite frankly a horrible experience. I attribute most of that to the piss poor matchmaking and not so much the mode. I solo queue so I'm at the mercy of whoever I get teamed up with. My rank is usually high silver to mid gold and I can never seem to find my way out of that and have come to accept it.

This game was designed to be a tactical shooter and had variety with the different modes. It's not the case anymore. Sure it's a tactical shooter for the squad that plays together all of the time but when the matchmaking pits the solo queuer against that they have no chance! No real severe penalties for leaving matches. No penalty for throwing matches. I realize I'm a bit off topic here so I'll reel myself back in.

Variety is what this game has thrived on for years. I've noticed more bomb in casual than ever before. It's almost as if they are just cramming it down our throat.

They should bring back the other two modes. Include bomb but take away the option of toggling off the other modes. That would be a fair balanced way of doing it. Otherwise it's going to get really boring really quick! During the two pick and ban special events I found myself bored to death playing the same mode over and over again.
