I've been at work all day and cant play yet. Is the sound at least a little better? AKA if something explodes behind me or if a 1 speed sprints up behind me will I hear it if there is 1 other sound going on?

Nope! Played a few hours this morning and got silent Fuzed once, saw both Finka and Lion's gadgets make no noise, and had at least one round where reloads made no noise.
