So I was doing the citizenship test quest (Sokrates and Alkibiades) where you have to sign some his friend on the citizens sheet ... he specifically tells you that you need to do this undetected !! yet I came into the agora killed all the guards and sign the sheet and nothing happened at all : quest completed lol ... I know that stealth is not a big part of the game anymore and I personally am not a big fan of stealth also, but it would be nice that in those situations where you are specifically told to do something undetected it has some negative outcomes so it make sense you know.
It's similar to some Ori challenges where the quest giver asks you to do it quickly, or make sure it gets there in one piece, or do it discreetly or whatever other specification -
It doesn't matter. I don't know why it's requested if it doesn't matter - it's one of those things that's just there and won't change so you just go with it.
The game is what you make of it in how you approach missions and I'm good with that.
In future games I wouldn't mind if they gave specific side challenges (like off a message board) similar to past games where you're given specific ways to do a mission that you can elect to take for extra loot or XP.
It would bring back some of the desync system people liked in the older games but wouldn't be mandatory for people who disliked it.
It matters if you want it to. Sure, in that particular quest it seems it doesn't really matter but if you, for example, choose to play as a pure assassin (build wise) it does matter because open combat might be a severe disadvantage. The game is build to let you play how you want to play, if you want to be a silent assassin you can do that but you can also be warrior who just beats everyone to a bloody pulp.
Stealth surely isn't the main focus of this game but it is a still a thing. If you choose to ignore it that's your thing.
For my first playthrough as a full-on warrior I just went in and trashed everyone there, didn't give a damn about getting caught. The dialogue changes slightly but that's it.
In theory, I would agree it doesn't matter but therein lies the problem with the stealth system in general i.e. the emphasis on power rather than strategy.
It wouldn't be fair to punish full-on warrior players for failing a stealth orientated mission because they didn't put enough percentage into their assassination skill.
I'd imagine that the only way to complete this mission without getting caught as a warrior would be to wear the pilgrim set but I'm not sure if it's possible to obtain the full set at that stage in the game.
I think the OP meant "matters" as in the outcome of the mission's story as opposed to gameplay consequences.Originally Posted by Buschkoeter Go to original post
But then the solution would be to just hide the body.Originally Posted by broski0808 Go to original post
I agree. I would be nice if the verbal criteria would have an impact. Maybe you don’t always fail, but at least you should get different dialog with acknowledgement of your screw up and lower rewards. E.g. if they say “do it quickly” the timer should start then and have three different tiers of reward based on the time. Also if someone gives you a hot potato quest then enemy agents should actually try to intercept or rob you in the area if you’re not careful while you have that item on you. It would help elevate these above basic fetch quests.
