Ever since the "armor glitch", I've made it a habit of inspecting people that kill me in the DZ. I've noticed there are an increasing number of rogues that seem to have normalized weapon damage in the 20-30k range. I've toggled between their normal and normalized stats to make sure I wasn't just looking at the wrong set of stats.
I even found someone using a near identical gun to mine, except their normalized damage was around 30k, while mine dropped down to around 10k. I don't believe it to be UI bug because we both have around 250k armor listed and it takes me several seconds just to strip their armor, while they are able to kill me near instantly.
As stated, most of our other stats seem to be about the same, the only thing that's jumping out at me, is how high their weapon damage is, despite normalization being in effect.
Hi Solkard
In my experience there is alway's "cheaters" in PvP ex I stopped BF 5 when I was killed from 200 yards with a shotgun. I think there is a "few" people using softwear/hardwear depending on platform in every PvP game and they sadley likes to lessen every other gamer wich likes to compete in a "legal" way. As long as the client send information to the servers there will be way's to cheat unless they start to "tunnel" (knida like VPN) wich makes it harder to change the information between client -> server. Maybe they could make DZ better as when you zone in they scan your gear and tell servers what stat it should get while you are in DZ and calculate from there when you change gear setup inside.
You might take into consideration that you loose a lot of value on modified attributes when being in normilization. If you have a piece of equipment on which the attribute for weapon damage is modified and they are wearing one with a native, non-modified attribute, resulting in both being around the same, you will still have way less when being normalized. E.g. if you have a modifed glove with +11% for smg damage, it will only be around 3% in normalization.
That doesn't account for the difference of over 100% damage though. I actually have higher pre-normalization damage than them. But after normalization, my damage is cut by more than half, while theirs is barely reduced by 10%.Originally Posted by tokiopewpew Go to original post
As far as I can tell, based on the screen shots of all their gear, the damage drop they're taking is from the reduction in weapons damage bonus mods, which I also incur. But the end result seems to imply that the base damage of their weapon is not being affected by at all.
At this point, I'm more curious if their damage is overly high or mine is being overly reduced. I would be fine with either standard, as long as it was evenly applied to both parties. It is the disparity between me unable to strip the armor off a flanked rogue, versus them being able to near instantly kill me, that is starting to feel frustrating.
im guessing the high bullet dmg guys in normalized mode use LMGs and weapon damage mods only, while ditching crit and crit damage.
that's my guess.
crit doesn't work at all range anyways so its not really versatile compared to weapon dmg.
that's just my guess though ; i'm more into AR builds with near-60% crit chance.
Attrib types (meaning you can have more armor or more health etc etc), Talents, weapon type and class, and mods ALL play in normalization. The only thing normalization does is roll all attribs to 500 as well as THE SAME WEAPONS damage ouputs.Originally Posted by Solkard Go to original post
The only way to be 100% equal is to run the exact same gear/attribs, have the same mods, AND have the exact same weapons with the same talents.
It sounds like you have no idea how normalization works.
That damage is not a true reflection, try it on your own gear. Look at normal weapon damage and then switch to normalised, dont look at the stat sheet, look at the gun itself. Im not online right now but if i remember rightly, it shows the same as you're describing here.
Ive witnessed the same in basically everyone i play against online in the dz.
It's a visual glitch.
They're not really doing that much damage.
Read the TU4 patch notes.
My M60 does around 12k damage normalized, when people(friends) inspect me it shows much higher than that. Every person I've ever inspected has shown really high damage on their guns in the DZ.
Why are you people just now noticing this? lol
Have a friend inspect you in the DZ and you'll see.
I've seen AR's with 20K as well. I actually first noticed when a couple Rogues were using the Eagle Bearer, while camping a DZ checkpoint. I wanted to see what talents it came with and noticed that their weapon damage was abnormally high, while my AR was normalized down to 9k. I figured it was because the weapon was exotic or something and I remember seeing some reports that they were up to 30k normal damage, so didn't think too hard on it at the time.Originally Posted by teksuo1 Go to original post
As for the LMGs though, the issue is that you can toggle PvP normalization on and off while looking at someone's stats in the DZ and my weapon is listed as having a higher per bullet damage before normalization. Our talents were also the same, Unhinged and Allegro, both around GS 500. Flip on normalization and my listed damage drops down to 12k, while his is 29k. The listed weapon damage already calculates in effects from damage mods, so that shouldn't be the explanation. And no amount of mods should legitimately account for over a 100% damage difference.
