I think the point being missed about having an AI team is that squad based titles like Ghost Recon, Arma, SOCOM, etc, are about the focus of being the team leader of an elite commando unit. These games were designed for that niche. People purposely buy these titles for that experience. Granted, it was far better back in the days of complex tactical commands to include the complexity of push-to-talk voice commands. These days the game developers don't have the interest to even impress us anymore. Now they make a game like Breakpoint, take away the team leader experience that the previous series in the franchise provided and still want to call it Ghost Recon? Not to mention other issues with the direction Breakpoint is taking Ghost Recon.
Breakpoint would be the start of a great franchise on its own. It caters to the players who like games like Ghost Recon without the AI. If that is what you like, then this is the franchise for you. The Ghost Recon series is for those of us who enjoy the team leader experience from start to finish. Separate Breakpoint from the Ghost Recon franchise. For it's looter shooter aspect, the no AI team, the offline only, the fantasy enemy outfits, and so on. Let Breakpoint be Breakpoint without taking Ghost Recon down that road.
I think Breakpoint will be a fine Ghost Recon game without AI by your side the entire time. I'm starting to think this game is going to lead into a bigger, better game with an improved AI experience, maybe for release on the 20th anniversary of OGR.Originally Posted by Keltimus Go to original post
I remember coming into the Wildlands forums not long after release; Half the thread titles complained about the Crappy AI, friendly and enemy...
Ubisoft is listening to the feedback.
Yeah, I was one of the people "complaining." Not complaining to get rid of the AI. Everyone "complaining" were asking for better AI to include the requesting more sophisticated commands. It wasn't until it was realized that Ubisoft wasn't going to make the request improvements that people started asking to have the option to turn it off.Originally Posted by CrazySunDog Go to original post
The Ghost Recon title following Wildlands should have the focus on improving the AI. Breakpoint is of it's own niche, not Ghost Recon.
Clearly Ghost Recon was never the game for you if you never liked the AI. I don't even know why you even played it. Seems like Splinter Cell is more of your style.
Ubisoft added a solo option for Wildlands despite insisting that they wouldn't do it at all during the post-launch period, claiming it would go against the traditional Ghost Recon experience of commanding a squad.
I imagine player demand for the option was high enough that they figured most players wouldn't mind their complete omission in the next game.
Everyone shoulda practiced on solo. Play you some solo ghost mode. Just itacua will make a man out of you. Plus the AI cheat. I dont like cheaters ai or not lolOriginally Posted by nyleken Go to original post
