100% this. I even played co-op a few times with friends and still found the AI team more reliable.

you can use the A.I team for stealth/sniper missions as well. Actually it´s the only thing i use them for, with good recon and sync shot abilities , it´s a matter of how you control them. Imo they have gotten better the past 2 years but i enjoyed them a lot. As with Division 2 or wildlands , it can be played like just cause or armed assault, it all depends on how you approach it

Thanks for the info i’ll test that today I didn’t know, so happy for the info,

    Thanks I appreciate your info

I loved the AI in GRW. They werent perfect but they were the best teammates AI in a game (maybe excet FC5). AIs in games is so rare and making a tactical shooter in a gigantic open world with teammates AI is a huge task that UBI took upon themselves.
many people were very happy to spot they flaws, but in all the mistakes they've done, they were still best in the business. (which is easy, since the business of AI teammates is pretty none existent, and for a good reason - it's damn hard).
I used the teammates for sync shotting but also for backup in a firefight. You know that freedom to do missions the way we want? it's possible because give a couple of upgrade to the AI they can really hold their own in a fight. They can eliminate an entire base on their own if given the command to attack, and they can really contribute to the sense of a military firefight if things so south. It just doesnt feel the same when you are a solo player with no AIs. you no longer feel like a spec-ops team. You feel like in any other shooter game.
And when we got the option to customize them - MAN, I was soooo happy.

I will miss the AIs sooooooooo muuuuuuuch!
It broke my heart when they said "No AI teammates" in the Q&A. my jaw hit the floor. all the excitement I felt during the reveal just went "poof".

Squad based shooters are a rare thing these days.

Last one I played was Space Hulk Deathwing. Which was decent but the squad AI was disappointing.

I would really love to have the option of a decent squad AI to control, but also enjoy lone wolf.
The squad AI was ultimately pretty rubbish in Wildlands — I won’t miss them.

If they gave you the option of recruiting local indigenous NPCs that you could say train up, and would gain experience over time that would be cool. And they had permadeath.
And RoE Toggle, and ability to give individual orders...

For me it’s the always online that’s most egregious.
    Awesome! +1

I found the AI team in GRW to be indispensable & especially, in ghost mode to clear everything & get myself out of some messed up situations. They helped me reach tier one ghost mode ages ago & I’m currently playing another character slot on ghost mode, tier 18.

Ghost Recon 1 AI was perfectly designed for the kind of game it was. Subsequent games did a good job with contextual commands. I liked Future Soldier's AI inspite of the absence of a command system. Wildlands might as well have not had any commands apart from sync shot.

The AI has been a mixed bag, which is why a solid effort in bringing in the next gen of Squad based gameplay should've been the focus of a Ghost Recon game.

Ghost Recon 1 (If the player wasn't a moron) allowed you to really play as a small but lethal Commando team where maneuvering and firepower really mattered. You absolutely needed to work in a coordinated fashion. Beauty of it was that it was entirely on you to formulate a plan and execute.

The squad based elements elevated the game beyond most shooters.

Breakpoint - tactically speaking - is no different than the numerous other third person stealth-action titles that are so popular. It provides the same experience Far Cry does - albeit with some twists - or MGSV did.

Sure, the second-to-second gameplay will give it a unique flavour and is most important, but the game loses a huge part of it's appeal when it drops an important tactical layer like squad commands and management.

Wildlands was my first experience with a shooter game, so I didn't see all the complaints about mechanics or bugs or whatever. Away from all that, I can say I enjoyed the game immensily and the AI were a massive help for a rookie like me. I was down more times than they were since I was still learning how to be stealthy. As I got better at the game, I learned how to use the commands in my favor to the point almost reaching tier one and beating Guerrilla. I agree that previous titles in the franchise might be better. Just keep in mind the size of the team that worked in Wildlands. So, the team of one thousand are not up to the task of making the AI better? Not gonna lie, the only missing trophies for the platinum are the ones that require co-op. Because I utterly hate playing with others.

In The Division 2, when I played with some ocasional friends and we used matchmaking, we had to kick two players that joined us, which I find more stressful than the low performance AI in Wildlands. Breakpoint doesn't feel worth my time and money from what I know about it so far. In my opinion, Wildlands will still offer more than its successor, since it can work with much more playing styles. You can go solo, multiplayer, turn on/off AI, be stealthy, go mayhem, play offline, customize AI... I really don't want to repeat the experiences and mechanics of Division games in a Ghost Recon sequel. Apparently the drones won't be able to revive me, so in the end it would be just frustrating and tiresome, since I prefer going solo. Add that to the social hub that kills the whole lone survivor thematics and can it still be called Ghost Recon? Really wish AI teammates were optional in Breakpoint too.

I love my AI's too. I made wave 25 in guerilla mode. And that's just with my AI's .... best team ever.
Damn i hate Ubi for this ... NO AI's ----> no Breackpoint

The main problem with the AI in Wildlands was the absolute lack of commands you could give your squad. In previous GR games there were more commands to make, and for that, the AI felt more usable.
