I'm as much against cheating as anyone.
But...
They can't ban people or do anything to them for choosing to equip a certain piece of gear.
They can say they give them a warning or whatever but they no they can't actually punish them for it.
I do feel sorry for the PC players though since they have to deal with actually cheating(aim bots) and such.
Lucky on console we only really have to deal with exploits.
You’re making it seem like players were just putting on a random peace of 100+% armor gear, that’s not even the case. The stat doesn’t exist in the game. They intentionally used an exploit to get it to these high numbers, intentionally being the key word.Originally Posted by RANDOPH Go to original post
It was no accident, no special loot drop, an intentional act of cheating.
Like CJ said, this wasn't done on accident. These people saw what the exploit was and purposefully replicated it. They are cheaters and they should have been banned. Maybe not permanently, but at least temporarily (like a week or something).Originally Posted by RANDOPH Go to original post
It would be different if they just happened to be wearing a piece of gear that game you high armor on its own that there be some mercy given to these people, but not when they intentionally cheat.
Yes and no.Originally Posted by CJ Fresh Go to original post
It exists in the game because of how they changed normalization to bump everyone up to 500gs.
Once again devs implementing a change that was never needed and then failed to test the outcome.
They failed here.
They know this and that's why they won't do anything about it other than to patch their mistake.
I'm glad they supposedly fixed it(I haven't been on yet to see if anyone is still doing it).
Hopefully they were able to fix it.
It's great that they took this stance against cheating but...
When 99.99% of the loot that drops is pretty much useless, it really kills the motivation to continue playing due to being unable to advance/progress character(s) or experiment with builds.
This is the main problem currently plaguing the game that needs to be addressed
My understanding is they will only ban players on the 2nd offense after a warning. Use your 'free' first cheating offense wisely, and make sure to exploit to the fullest... /sigh
edit: not even a temp ban on the worst offenders is weak. You know those that abuse it daily and had the whole DZ to themselves
So hypothetically you just hit WT1 (DZ is WT1 to WT5) and didn't have any real good PVP gear but you had a few blue pieces that you liked.Originally Posted by DarkKnight27us Go to original post
Then you went into the DZ using those pieces you had which the devs added armor % to in their last patch and just so happened to be gamebreaking.
Should you be banned for this?
It doesn't matter if a few people did it on purpose or not.
By not banning these people they are guaranteeing that the next time an exploit is discovered people will rush to exploit it until it is fixed because they know nothing will happen to them. You really think they are going to keep track of all the people who ran this exploit to see if the same people run the next exploit?
