It's a boring combo. In legendary arena 9/10 of players use Santa+SOMM, maybe with Incan Craig or YPC. It's boring because I fight every time against the same cards and it seems to play against the same opponent.
It's not funny.

In legendary, the top game is Mystical + Fantasay.
And in second, but wayyyyy behind, it's Mystical + Adventure.

Adjust your deck accordingly? What do you play? I play adventure mystical but I don’t play Santa. I usually just combust stan immediately and avoid having a full deck on the field at once. CM would be ace against it as well I guess

CM ? It's to easy to hide from it, and too late if Santa is there.
And if the other player have Pope Timmy, you're screwd.
For myself, I rather thinks it's santa that need a nerf rather than SOTMM.

If you have both UC (or Trans), and Lightning in your deck, you are fine, or trade one out for Power Bind, or Mind Control. It can be dealt with.

1. There is Youth Pastor Craig who deny all spells.

2. If there isn't YPC, there are cards to protect the combo

Power bind ----> Purify
UC ----> Pope Timmy

It's the strongest combo in the entire game because it's unstoppable.

As a Santa/SOMM player, I agree with the one who said Fantasy/Mystical is better - but - you need a lot of level 3 legendaries to make it work. SOMM is the only legendary in my deck. And as for the YPC/Purify argument, it is problematic to run both. YPC is stronger but you need all your cards lined up just right behind him, while of course Purify is situationally better but can be dead weight in your hand. The top mystical/fantasy players seem to have it all figured out how to counter it though - it’s a very restrictive set of cards you can play so once someone shows Santa+Adventure you know what you’re up against.

The reason you end up in streaks fighting the exact same opponent cards is because matchmaking is partly determine due on the cards you are playing. Ubi will deny this until the cows come home, but the evidence is overwhelming that you can change the kinds of opponent cards you keep getting matched against simply by changing a couple cards in your deck. For example, I at one time logged 37 out of 40 matches against chicken coop. I changed to an alternate deck, and BANG I immediately stopped getting matched against fantasy with coop completely. Like flipping a switch.

They’ll deny it because it sounds like total nonsense. I’ve never experienced (or have talked to anyone else) who has experienced what you’re describing, and I swap between 3 different decks with multiple themes. Sounds like some kind of wild confirmation bias.
