They could choose a location thats based on a different country in South America, but I still doubt it.
I believe it's all a hallucination. There's no way Far Cry New Dawn is canon, and the resist ending allowed them to experiment with post-apocalypse for a Far Cry game that's not even full priced. Post-apocalypse that isn't Blood Dragon, of course.
I actually want them to return to Far Cry 1, Far Cry Instincts and Far Cry 3. Since Ubisoft decided to have a nuclear bomb ending, I'd like to see the return of the volcano eruption from Far Cry 1 and Instincts. Like the nuke, I'd like to see it happen through a cutscene instead of just being part of level design. So instead of going from point A to point B as you shoot spec ops and onto the boss fight, escaping from lava would be pretty cool. Another reason why I'd like to see lava is if they put it in the map editor.
Since a lot of people complained about the silent protagonist, it would be cool if choosing the gender would also determine the character's voice and dialogue. it would be a lot like For Honor, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Hearing multiple selection of voices in the Saints Row games was pretty neat. If there's gameplay differences from choosing gender like what is seen in the Mass Effect games and Fallout 4, that's also a big plus.
I do want the Far Cry series to return to the tropical islands, and I want the main villain to be mysterious this time. In Far Cry Instincts, you don't know who the main villain is until you completed nearly 1/3 of the storyline. In Far Cry 3, I like how Hoyt is the main villain. He started off being mysterious, like you can hear his voice from the beginning of the game. However, you don't know who he is until you reach a certain point in the storyline. What I liked about Far Cry Instincts, the game didn't outright show you the villains from the beginning. Far Cry 1 and 3 already revealed the secondary villain too early. Far Cry Instincts Evolution, Far Cry 2, 3, 4, 5 and New Dawn all showed the villains right from the start. Blood Dragon and Primal had villains that were first mentioned and were revealed later. I don't want to see more 'betrayal' plot twist storylines since its overdone. Far Cry 1, Evolution, Vengeance, 2, 3, 4, and 5 had these plot twists. The traitor in Far Cry 1 wasn't a traitor in Instincts and Evolution. Evolution and FC5 had some form of betrayal, but it was against their will.
What I like about Far Cry Instincts, it was about survival and finding your colleague until the villains are revealed with the intentions of turning the protagonist into a lab experiment. In Far Cry 2, the objective is to takeout the arms dealer. However, I get the vibe that there is no objective. The game puts you in a world with no instructions, so you had to explore and talk to quest givers. It actually did make me feel like I'm just a hired mercenary. In Far Cry 3, it's about finding your kidnapped friends and leaving the island until the protagonist becomes a monster with intentions to kill everyone. The secret ending in Far Cry 4 is canon, so everything you do in Far Cry 4 is one big side mission that Ajay Ghale shouldn't be doing to begin with. Far Cry 5 is similar to Far Cry 3, but it was different in its own way. Like Far Cry 3's bad ending, Far Cry 5's endings made it seem it was all pointless. It was all for nothing. With Far Cry 6, I'd like it if the plot focuses more on survival.
There can be buddies and guns for hire like in Far Cry 2, 5 and New Dawn. I'd like to see the plot thats all about survival and not about liberation. There shouldn't be a faction that treats you as their ally. The guns for hire will be your quest givers. There are no locals, instead it's just a private military that is hunting you down. You don't know what their agenda is, and you should learn who the main villain and their motives halfway through the storyline. You can gather resources like in Far Cry Primal, so you can setup camps and shelters for yourself and your guns for hire. Instead of liberating outposts, you are merely neutralizing the outposts. Therefore you will eliminate the main threat within each outpost's vicinity. There are no friendly locals that will defend the outposts. Instead, the outposts are just deserted. You will be ransacking the outposts, and the supplies are used to upgrade your camp like what is seen in Far Cry Primal and Far Cry New Dawn. Each gun for hire can have specific side missions for each outpost.
I got this idea from the Tomb Raider trilogy and Hours of Darkness DLC. In Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara adapts and use her survival skills in order to progress through the storyline. In Hours of Darkness, your goal is to escape Vietnam. As you are trying to escape, you happen to be clearing out NVA camps, rescuing prisoners of war, destroying AA guns, and taking out NVA commanders along the way. Hours of Darkness can be completed in less than an hour despite its name. I'd like to see that as a full-fledged game without the war part. It's just survival until you progress your way to taking on the main villain.
