Literally no one, and I mean no one I’ve played with thought the raider needed a buff. And I hop online at least every other day. I’ve talked to many raider mains. The character was already balanced as it was. But you decided to up his damage, up his light speed, give him hyper armor, and increase the speed of his stunning tap which is the one thing everyone complained about. On top of that despite even more complaints about a nerf being needed for the raiders stunning tap, you plan to increase its stamina damage, despite the ridiculous amount of stamina damage it already does. And the justification you’re using for that is that you plan on nerfing his dodge guard break. Seriously you’ve created a new meta. Literally everyone I play with online complains about the raider like he was the orochi, which he basically is now thanks to that light speed you thought was necessary for some reason.
Fix what you broke. ****s sake I absolutely can’t imagine what part of the for honor community you talked to that told you this was the right way to go with the raider.
He’s got hyperarmor, spam-able lights, stamina punish and drainers, 50 damage unblockables, and a 400ms soft faint that’s nearly impossible to react to short of prediction. Explain to me how this is a balanced character. You put way too much into one character.
in my opinion, the raider had a need for a buff previously, he did not have good openings and his light attack was very easy to pair, now I think it is balanced, it was interesting the hyperarmor too, even because the viking are brutal and uncontrolled , it would make sense to put hyperarmor. and about putting a lot in a hero, all the heroes have specific characteristics, for example, the raider has a heavy attack that gives a lot of damage with average life with the ability to ambush your opponents with unlockables, since the shinobi has reasonable damage with little life with ability to deal damage over time, well, that's my opinion.
Yup he definitely needs a nerf. As for the hyper armor, the guy wears 0 armor how does it make sense he has hyper armor while Lawbringer who's in FULL heavy armor has none? His light attack speed needs to go down and his stunning tap should be slowed down to what it once was. And please remove the DODGE GB crap. He had no openers, but to make his light attacks an opener, that's not cool. I've never seen a raider light spam until this rework. And it deals way too much damage along with the other moves he has at his kit.
In summary:
1) Remove dodge GB.
2) Reduce the speed/damage of his stunning tap and light attacks.
3) He's not an assassin or a hybrid, he should not be allowed to feint a heavy into GB.
The hyperarmor was entirely uneeded on both the Raider and Gladiator, and in my opinion clearly break balance.
Same goes for hyperarmor in Hitokiri, the way this game is going they're going to add hyperarmor to all the Heroes (which is ridiculous).
In my opinion only the heavies should have hyperarmor, but whatever, the more they break the game, the more of a reason I have to play other stuff.
