Hi people.
Firstly, I created a new account for this post.
Secondly this was a paypal refund
I'm sure a lot of people are familiar with the Ultimate Edition, "Additional Stash Space" controversy from a few months back. Things have mostly died down about that now.
At it's height I was saying that I thought I would be entitled to a refund due to misrepresentation of the product I was buying. More specifically that I was not informed of the change in description of the "additional Stash Space" feature and given an opportunity to refund. Because I was never informed of the change by ubisoft then I was entitled to a refund until they inform me.
I decided to let things play out. I don't need the money, and if the game was good enough I'd probably let it slide.
Well now I know how good the game is, and I've made some predictions about how good it can be in the future and I've decided to rescind Ubisoft's pass.
After a couple of weeks of exchanges with Ubisoft support, where I requested a partial refund, I had to move it up to a paypal dispute.
I made my case, uploaded some of my email exchanges and some other material as evidence, then after a couple of weeks the case was decided in my favour.
To be honest i was a little disappointed that Ubisoft didn't respond. I'd have preferred a response and no refund, over getting a straight refund. Would have been interested to see their reply. In my ubisoft support exchange they mostly ignored the harder questions, but they'd have to give proper answers in a paypal dispute I reckon. Maybe I could have gotten them to lie about it

You play for 110 hours and are now demanding a refund?Originally Posted by Nennee Go to original post
Lol ok then
I played 240 hours before contacting ubisoft support. I actually stopped playing about 3 weeks ago, maybe longer. a week before the Raid. So my disillusionment with the game predates the raid. It was actually when I was trying to make a new skill based build, and realised that not only would it be easier to collect gear to make the build if i had more ******* stash space, but that the build would probably be rubbish and disappointing anyway.Originally Posted by Goo-Goo-Man Go to original post
That's when I decided that I wouldn't be throwing much away if I got a refund for the game, and I presume get my account closed as a result. I don't think this game is as fixable as division 1 was, and I don't think i will come back to the game like I did with division 1.
I haven't tried starting the game up yet, but it still shows up in Uplay.
You got more than you money's worth out of the game then and should not have received a refund for any reason.Originally Posted by MrStrangeways Go to original post
I agree that what they did with the stash space was slimy, but you should have made a stand about it before you dropped 10 days of your life into the game.
From an juristic point of view I understand your agenda, but on the contrary I appreciate the decision from the publisher and developer to make the stash for everybody "equal". They just made the mistake of selling that feature as an exclusive. But they made a lot of mistakes, unfortunatly, and a few of them made me "angry".
I had the same gaming experience as someone who bought the standard version of the game. I gave Ubisoft the option of honouring the deal of additional stash space, or providing a partial refund.Originally Posted by Wurm65 Go to original post
If Ubisoft wanted to keep my money then all they had to do fulfil the original deal.
It was totally Ubisoft's choice
