    Delayed because no ones interested??

You know when I first saw Skull and Bones announced — I thought YES finally they’re gonna make a proper Pirate game building on the great gameplay seen in Black Flag....

I thought add in exploration, diplomacy and a real economy that you can exploit like Sid Meier’s Pirates!
Hiring a crew from around the world, a variety of NPCs with different traits.

Then I found out that it was primarily a PvP multiplayer game, focusing on ship combat alone, no getting off the ship, no exploring, no on land sections for adventuring....
No jumping off the ship at anytime...
    No real singleplayer....

    I lost all interest.

I want an open world 3rd person adventure. Where you can buy or capture different ships and upgrade them. Giving the player a sense of ownership. I hated in Black Flag how you couldn’t change your ship.
I want melee combat, different weapons and items. I want ranged combat, muskets, blunderbuss etc.
I want the ability to use stealth or all out combat...

Generally if a game has no interest, you don't delay it, you just get rid of it. So, no, I don't think the delay has anything to do with community interest levels.

Truth of the matter is, we don't know exactly why the delayed it. Maybe what they planned for the game just wasn't going to be ready in time for a 2019 release. Maybe what they planned for the game wasn't "clicking," so they're going back to the drawing board and reworking the game's designs / focus / premise. Maybe the PvP "ship arena" format wasn't checking the right boxes, and they decided to go back and reframe the game to be more adventure-oriented (with all of the cascading changes that entails). Who knows?

We'll find out eventually, but there's not much we can do about it one way or the other in the meantime. Here's hoping the payoff is worth it all.
