Is it just me or is the scaling on this mission completely wrong?
It’s just taken me the best part of an hour to complete, which is twice as long as it takes me to do any stronghold.
The tv studio before the end was ridiculous, with 5 tanks spawning, 4 warhounds, 2 gold medics, and a plethora of grenade/drone spammers.
Sort it out.
I don't mean to be elitist (which means I'm totally going to be but really don't want to be) but not many people plays the missions on normal difficulty because they're just way way way too easy. Too easy to the point of not being fun. Also playing it on normal doesn't count towards a commendation for completing a mission on hard or higher 10 times. So while that sounds like a lot of enemies you were dealing with, it sounds like they built up on you and overwhelmed you because you couldn't take them down fast enough because like Ektope said your build is broken.
Related to this... I played through invaded DCD on Challenge last night and more or less breezed through it. I then went on to invaded Lincoln Memorial (same loadout) on the same difficulty leveland found it to be significantly harder to get through. Generally, NPCs took far longer to kill and dished out a lot more damage. Also the volume of NPCs was increased. I get that not all missions / difficulty scales are created equally but the difference between these two was worlds apart. To the point it seemed like the scaling was just way off.
I agree, I also had a glitch if you can call it that.
Played the mission on Challenging (I set the difficulty level) and it felt like Heroic...everyone was getting smashed....I ended up leaving the group for another invite....when I came back to do it again it was back to normal and we cruzed through it
There is a glitch that sometimes happens with this and a few other missions.
Simply put, sometimes the difficulty can ramp up severely on some missions and they can go from hard to tougher than heroic in a heartbeat.
This mission in particular created an incident for me.
As a solo, I have done this mission by myself along with most of the others on challenging(I can regularly, if I feel like it, solo Tidal Basin on Challenging). I once joined a group of friends doing Vewpoint on hard. That was a horrific experience. I joined them on the last room. They were in the process of being wiped and I fought as long as I could and got wiped with them. We then did it again. Sure enough it didn't take long for them to get wiped again. This time I hung back and just had to systematically fight off what seemed like wave after wave of heroic toughness enemy for I want to say nearly a half an hour. It was ugly. I was sometimes pulling back to the stairs and peeking them to kill them one by one.
I was eventually able to revive all of my downed teammates, but it was a brutal bitter battle of attrition against the NPC's.
Some have posted here about other experiences like this on Roosevelt and the Capital. I have experienced this on Roosevelt, but it was over a month ago. I can solo Roosevelt on Challenging (Invaded and Non-Invaded) and Solo'd Capital last week on challenging dying only once.
This isn't a matter of "git gud", this is a legitimate bug.
The difficulty on this depends on what I have termed RNG for missions where you run it with one agent or you do not finish and return later it can be a totally different experience, where it goes from easy / ridiculous to complete opposite.Originally Posted by MsSpydaSam Go to original post
Have done that mission and it was easy, next run, TV Studio, 4 yellow mini gun bosses, 3 robot snipers, 2 gold medics, 2 purple medics and a red medic, yellow rpg npc’s, took ages because the medics revived a heap, wave after wave just kept pouring out.
There is a huge difference between the easy run, 107 NPC deaths vs crazy, 187 deaths.
There is also suspicions that when it goes crazy there is a shift in damage and shots landing combined with a seeming increase in NPC damage and aggression.
Ignore the wankers who always jump on the your build is crap / translated to get good, despite knowing nothing of your build, how you play and the statement you normally clear it in half the time.
The game has surprises, clear it with out too much trouble but then a crazy section cuts in and difficulty goes up.
The question is for the Messiahs for who the game is so easy, why do you play it if it is so boringly easy?
Personally I can not be bothered with the mind numbing repetition of killing 500 npc’s on a mission, I play to chill out, so happy on the dull boring normal level but no issue clearing cp4 but does not thrill me.
For those who like a challenge, great, if it is what you like to do, enjoy it but just see some want entertainment and are happy on the easy street level.
Are there statistics on how many play missions on the various levels, normal, hard, challenging, heroic. Interesting to see the split.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with my build, I never once said the mission was hard or too difficult, as stated I can breeze through everything, I was doing this mission on my third character and doing the invaded missions on normal for speed and ease to get the last part of the nemesis rifle. I use my first character for commendations as they only count on one character.
I played thru the mission again with a friend, again on normal setting, there was a lot less NPCs.
It felt to me, that the scaling for solo was off, NOT THE DIFFICULTY, I.e. there amount of enemy was scaled for a group of 4, not a solo run thru.
For comparison:
Grand Washington Hotel invaded solo - total enemies killed 72
American history Museum invaded solo - total enemies killed 68
View point museum invaded solo - total enemies killed 182
District union arena invaded solo - total enemies killed 112
See a problem?
There might be something fishy about invaded View point Museum.
I usually just MM all invaded missions in heroic difficulty. Lincoln and DCD were like ~15min last week, bank was non-issue.
For this reset, Air Museum took 18.55mins, Hotel was pretty fast, then viewpoint: https://imgur.com/a/KuFm6Oh (was a chore). So many mobs even ran out of ammo...
