Can State of the Game actually be about the State of the Game? | Forums

If Hamish wants to grab a dev and have fun talking about topics, that's all well and good, but use a podcast for it instead of the State of the Game.

Rather, could we use the State of the Game to actually talk about the State of the Game?

Nerfing Bank farm, not talking about the armor exploit? Things actually occurring in the game?

I would rather not have a State of the Game if there is just going to be things added to it that aren't actually related to the "State of the Game".

I felt like this State of the Game was just Drew Rechner (LEAD AI DESIGNER) reiterating most of the common AI issues Division 2 players are experiencing.
The majority of us that play this game, on a daily basis have to battle vs the AI that will consistently do everything Drew said & more for the past 2 ½ months.

There was absolutely 0 talks about actually implementing fixes in the game. You can all go rewatch the VOD. The evidence speaks for itself, the man just sitting
talking "We know that the NPCs run fast" "We are aware that they will come melee you multiple times in a row" "We know the NPCs sometimes just run right past you
in close proximity and you're like See Ya"

This was a waste of time for the community, and a waste of time pulling a Lead AI Designer off work just to come in for that.

It really depends what's the position of the invited dev, what's his/her job. If the guest dev is AI Designer they'll obviously talk about the AI bugs, which they did.
Yes maybe they could've talked about the armor glitches to tell us what's going on with that, like the progression, is the problem found, etc. but I can understand why they talk about something specific, it really depends on the invited dev job.

This is why I don't even watch it, I wait for the reviews / synopsis later Imo it shouldn't be a specific department as the Invited Developer, but a Dev lead who is authorized to talk about all the current issues, and what they are doing about it.

If your going to call something a Live service, then it needs to have Live responses

I don't really call that TALKING about AI BUGS. He definitely spoke about the BUGS and how he knows what bugs we are complaining about. But is that really beneficial?
To pull a LEAD Designer off work just to have him come in and reiterate what the bugs are to community members who already know about the bugs?

Its like if they struck gold in a certain spot in Alaska, and its been farmed out for 2 and a half months, then the lead excavator comes on TV and says this certain spot in Alaska
was being farmed, just letting y'all know.

Its exactly like that... with the community knowing about the bugs, then having a Lead AI guy come on and tell us what those bugs are that we are experiencing like we don't already know....

All i'm saying. Is bring better material. Don't need to pull a dev off his job to re-tell the community about how fast NPCs run, How they melee you multiple times in a row, How they teleport if they miss an animation frame in their coding. A lot of us would've preferred to hear about "We are going to do this to fix this to make npcs stop running fast. and so on." Instead after explaining each BUG he continued to drone on about more irrelevant information that most of the chat is lost or too busy spamming to even care about him talking bout BUGS that we experience on a daily basis.

Hammish mentioned the armor glitch briefly and said they're looking into it to see what's causing the problem.

As a software engineer, I actually found the discussion on AI behavior and the problems they have had interesting. Far more so than any of the other SOTG where its either the one guy bragging about how great the game is or the PvP guy insulting everyone.

For starters... replying with a quote is easy. It's the + symbol at the bottom of the post you want to quote, or if on mobile, the little dialog box looking symbol.

As to what's on your mind. You were literally complaining about them talking about the AI bugs while not talking about the fixes for them when the clearly said that the fix was coming out next week in update 3.1. The reason they were talking about the AI bugs is because the guest was the Lead AI Designer, it's his specialty. They also wanted people to know what specific problems they were addressing and to give people who maybe don't know anything about game development or programming how fixing one thing can break something else entirely (as an unintended consequence).

So the news was that the AI fix will be out next week and will be fixing AI bugs. As for changes to the game... it's only been out for about 3 months. There will be changes, but probably not for another few weeks at least or whenever the first expansion will be out.

Div 1 tracker say you dipped out after 15 days lol, div 2 tracker says you got the hours clocked in but you hardly got npc kills or activities done for that many hours, you sit at the white house all day man?

I love this game and played every update, loved & hated it, it was passion.
