What good is the crafting station?

Seriously, I went in and I was looking over my gear, I RNGd a Petrov and Badger gold piece, went to recalibrate it and it tells me I cant. Friggin WHy!? Why the hell can we not recalibrate a crafted piece? What sense does that make?

Then we cant switch stats, if your piece comes with no mod slots, its not like we can mod some on.

If the thing comes with 2 Electronics, 1 armor and 1 dmg mod, you cant go ahead and change the 2 Electronics to armor if you so choose.

Why is the crafting system in this game so damn limiting? Its bad enough we can only swap talents off the same class of weapon, despite the talents being universal among weapons.

Can they just copy paste the Div 1 crafting system in? It had RNG, but it had much more freedom to allow us to mod our gear to our own playstyle and flavor. The biggest flaw I saw with Div 1 crafting system was the tier limited optimzation. My dad and I got a 220ish Big Al and Showstopper when we first joined, we went in and upgraded them, but found out we could only upgrade it so far. I always thought we should be able to upgrade a piece from 0 to 290...same here. We ever going to get the optimization station back?

You get a cool gun with a nice perk, but its only 300, so its basically useless, since in 5 minutes your going to be using another gun with a higher GS.

This crafting system, now, is among the biggest reasons I dont enjoy this game. The loot is not enjoyable, since its all absolute garbage until I get GS500. Even then, of the Brand Sets in the game, im after Badger and Petrov, and yet 9.9/10 of those pieces come out as complete trash, and there is nothing I can do about it, except grind and hope I get a better piece? no....

This game's loot and build system is just RNG, on RNG with more RNG, packed with RNG and then just to be sure it sticks RNG garnish on the side of an RNG plate....its not fun...

This game added all these cool modding systems and really had the basis to be really fun and allow for some wild and near endless hours spent in the recalibration station, tweaking this and tweaking that(not even to min max, but just to make different builds), but naw, instead we get a system more limited than Fractured Space, despite the illusion of alot of options.....let us do what ever the hell we want with our gear and hte crafting station.......its more fun that way. Would at least then give me some incentive and add a little bit of enjoyment in running around trying to find more materials. I know thats waht kept me going in Division 1 every day. Grinding that Div tech so I could upgrade different guns, armor pieces, gear sets, and the like......

Crafting is useless because they don't want it to get in the way of their dumb RNG.

Its a complete waste of time, why allow us to craft something that may go up to 490? lmfao, completely pointless.

I avoid the crafting- and the calibration-station in it's current state. It's inferiour in relation to The Division. Not that I "want" a copy of it, but I miss the creativity here a lot.

Division 2's crafting system should and needs to allow us to alter gear ALOT more than just 1 friggin stat. Given that we have 3 talents, 3-5 attributes of 3 different types, up to 3 mod slots, we should be able to alter at least 1 of each, and be able to use crafting system to be able to change aat least 1 or 2. Like, you get an item that has 2 yellow 1 red, 1 blue and you want more health, we should be able to increase atleast 1 and swap a yellow to a blue if we so chose.

This crafting system is a serious missed opportunity. I literally hate how every game with a 'crafting' system, only ever allows us to change 1 stat, despite, games like Path of Exile, having like upwards of 9 on a single piece of gear.....time to join 2019 developers, let us get creative with our gear. Hell, these limitations is why I usually love to go in and mod my own gear. Games like Diablo 2? I used a character editor to create my own stuff...id do the same here if I could.

The crafting station is absolutely pointless and serves no purpose other than upgrade exotics and craft mods.

Anyway... my crafting bench's limit is 490. I don't know if this is a glitch or the way its supposed to be, but i'm WT5 with all six of my load outs ranging from GS 498 to GS 500. Yesterday I tried to craft a gun because I changed up one of my load outs and was no longer getting the bonuses. The crafted gun rolled at GS 474. What? Why?

Why is this even a thing that can happen? Breaking the gun down after crafting only gives back a meager fraction of the resources used to craft the weapon in the first place, so even if the gun (or whatever) magically crafted at 490, if it got crap rolls then you're screwed out of resources because you can't even re-calibrate what you crafted! Crafting is supposed to take some of the guesswork out of RNG but its just making the crafting process worse in this case.

Also, why does the crafting bench need to be tied to world tier? I understand that you don't want the really good blueprints to be locked in the DZ like in the Division 1 (I appreciate that as a non PVP player) but at the same time they shouldn't be tied to world tier and the crafting bench sure as **** shouldn't have a GS limit that is below what the GS maxes out at. It should be tied to whatever the players max GS is.

It's an exercise in frustration and it can kiss my ****ing *******.

Crafting is only useful for mods, gear sets and donations. Its not useful for high end items, but seriously, where is crafted gear actually useful? The only game that comes to mind would be Elder Scrolls online, which has specific crafting items that are compareable to loot items. In the vast majority of other games, loot items will always be better.

What moron made this crafting station? The only thing I can think of is it allows the player to waist resources in maybe trying to make a weapon with a specific Perk attached to it so the player can then add that perk to another gun USING MORE RESOURCES! I mean besides that the whole crafting station is Worthless... I mean seriously Tier 5 only allows me to make weapons from 450-490? Shouldn't it be 500?

It's pointless. I've only ever crafted weapon mods. Literally nothing else because it's just a waste of resources.
