so far liking how each faction now behaves differently gives a constant need to change up tactics and re-strategize on the fly but one thing i miss is being able to optimize my equipment to max score so i can keep and use what works and not be forced to switch to gear that proves its self highly dysfunctional. in actual practice.
so if this can be done it will likely help make alot of people happier and cut down on the grind feeling like an endless chore.
I think massive blew it when they threw out everything that worked well in D1. I don't know how they thought they could make it better but all they did was make it worse. All they needed was new area, DC, new missions, little tweeks and that was it. All the cheap NPC mechanics was not needed.
I fully agree. The recalibration and optimization system was great in TD1 at the end. I expected that they would implement this system based on experience - which most of us liked - also in the sequel. But no. Instead we got a new recalibration system and I don't like it. It is almost useless. It would help if we could change two attributes or talents at least. However, this way, we are almost completly at the mercy of the RNG.
well since you asked the outcasts rushing the way they do shows a lack of self preservation and forces more aggressive players to be defensive and move cover to cover more often and it also makes sense realistically as the outcasts are infected so they are already dead they would be more interested in getting sprayed with their blood so as to infect you too if they cant manage to gun you down first.Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
in this outcasts are reminiscent of groups like ISIS or the suicide squads that the NVA used in the Vietnam war.
the true sons have shown favoring entrenched positions and flanking with immobilizers though annoying it is also a dream for people with a skill based mindset and those who favor more aggressive attack tactics, hit them hard and fast with surgical precision and they often scatter with a little effort.
they are reminiscent of police and national guard defense teams.
the hyena's dont take much to beat and seem more like drug dealers and street thugs though simi dangerous most tactics work well.
they are reminiscent of modern street gangs and lesser criminal anarchist groups.
black tusk are always deploying skills and advanced technology and i found the best strategic advantage is to manipulate the breakpoint they present. switching between tech when mostly assault units are fielded, to precision assault for rushers and grenadiers, this also means going from attack to defend and to tactical fall back regularly as a means of adapting and overcoming. which can be easier said then done of course. studying them as you attack also gives an idea of what weapons are going to present the greatest effectiveness.
but that said the 500 gear score is still feeling like a massive chore and i still stand by the recommendation to restore the optimization system from div 1.
Would be better if you could roll any attribute up to the 100% cap total so you could roll more than 1 but still be capped at the 100% ie you roll one attribute to say 60% the second attribute might then cap out with less than what you tried to roll on due the cap being reached. This was how I felt in TD1 got bugger all exotics to drop after about 1500 hrs or so, there were some I never managed to get.
TD2 has been a very different experience. Managed to get Merciless after 3 runs on challenging in GWH and managed to get sweets dreams pretty quick from Roosevelt on challenging as well. Just a few nights back was running in DZ with mates and in 5 named bosses we got 4 pestilence drops. Biggest issue Ive had so far has been Nemesis with the time gate and stupid RNG applied to invaded missions.
I crushed my Liberty Pistol to upgrade chatterbox and first run though on challenging im finding parts dropping for it again. It's just the pitty the exotics are as useful as t!t$ on bull, unlike in TD1 when you got an exotic drop you got excited, not finding exotics anywhere near as exciting or rewarding in TD2 though. More trophies than anything atm.
I personally like your kind of tactical diversion questions - ask about the AI, not the main topic of the post. Very Copperfield of you!Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
P.S. Your question, though perfectly valid, only comes across as sanctimonious and dismissive of the OP's statement and question.
Question for you: Are the misdirection questions in your training manual? Is UBI surprised at the angst that the forums generate when we ALMOST never receive a STRAIGHT and HONEST answer from the company?
I love the way that each different faction dresses differently. I love how the True Sons, a faction build on military backgrounds, never deploys with a team lead and they all do their own thing. I love how the civilians have better training than the military factions. And I especially feel that the best tactic was for all factions to get together and say - "I know, we'll all just wear massive amounts of armor! That'll work!!!"Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
