To be honest the Dragonslayer Red deal was tough because of the 1200 token requirement, but it would be way too easy to get a guaranteed legendary for 925. I think token collection events are much tougher than card usage events (and less fun b/c you don’t get to use a different deck) so the rewards should be upped - but by “upped” I’d be happy to see two guaranteed epics in the last pack for both single player and team. With Battle Pass (a worthy investment of my real world cash), team wars and the normalization of highly leveled cards, there’s a reason the weekend event rewards don’t seem great anymore. But those accumulated materials and cards still add up.

The reason token events are much worse is because there is no guaranteed reward for time played. If you are lucky you get lots of tokens. If you are unlucky you spend hours playing, open 5 lockers 30 wins in a row and dont get a single "best loot" token locker.

The unpredictable, annoying grind is what makes token events sh*t. Give us a baseline token reward for phone destroyed / games won alread! Sadly, the business strategy is to keep token events annoying and frustrating to a level where people freak out after hours of getting zero reward and just waste their cartman dollars to get it over with.

To be honest, the entire setup with the lockers and double prices for every locker you open is textbook "house always wins", unethical gambling house strategy.

Players invest their time and energy trying to win a game.

But its not over there. Once you have managed to get a win, you have to pick the right locker first to see what you get for your time (if anything). But the lockers are rigged, so your choices are irrelevant.

You pick 3 lockers and you get junk like 1 or 2 or 3 of the items you need 1000 of. If you dont want to be a loser who wasted all that time on losses before the win, you better buy another locker. C'mon, its only $2.

The 4th locker gives you some other junk, like a single bronze upgrade item. Well, that was a waste. Only $5 to try again, could salvage this a bit.

5th locker is also junk. Now you have wasted both time AND money. Cut your losses or try again? Only a bit more expensive this time.

The more you pay, the more frustrating it becomes to get nothing in return and as human nature dictates, you will keep spending a lot more than you had planned in the first place, simply hoping to get a win, to get something in return, to not have wasted all that time and money. The classical "I can win it back if I just gamble a bit more".

And of course its setup in such a clever way that its not a downright gambling area of the game. It is your REWARD for a hard earned win. If you dont get something good then the time and effort spent to get the win was a waste of time.

And boy, do they expect you to waste time. Hours and hours and hours of grinding required for a chance to get that elusive final pack, that just MIGHT contain a legendary (but from my experience almost never does).

I know. We all play the game voluntarily, no one is forcing us. And events are optional. It just feels like the developers could spend some time on making a system that is more fun for the players and less about being a chore, being intentionally frustrating to increase sales of shortcuts, encouraging what is fundamentally destructive behaviour (i.e. gambling) which doesnt really make people happy.

And considering all of the above, is anyone REALLY susprised that de-ranking is a thing, especially during events?

Sorry about the massive rant, lets just summarize it instead: dear developers, we really enjoy some aspects of this game, and it has a lot going for it, but please take the time to make events more enjoyable and fun, since thats what games are supposed to be about. If you spread enough joy, you create good will and people will invest money into the game to support it Oh, and PS! Please try to fix some bugs while you're at it :P

Pretty sure they said in a different thread (just the other day) that you need to be in the unlock arena or higher to get a card? And I know during a previous Incan event they said you had to be in legendary to have a chance to get it. Not sure if that applies to purchased packs as well, though.

What nik_lin said is 100% on the money. How about you actually listen to the feedback where giving you, instead of massaging your own dog's.

Every week you put out a developer update and every week within that topic the conversations always gets back to how we want token events changing, this week has been no exception.

Why don't you actually do your job for a change and tell the developers that we want the event changed or even better removed with a new one in place.

Last week you spoke about how people wanted caps changing in tvt as feedback said it was to easy, so you changed the cap ammount. Those who requested it where a small ammount of fans. In fact it was all in just 1 posted topic.

Yet week after week players say about token events and how they want them changing. And they give very valid reasons but nothing is done or even acknowledged.

I know you don't respond to anything other than players not receiving in game items. So if your not willing to speak with the community who offer feedback why don't you put someone on here who will.

This message is not ment to come come across as arrogant, but if it does so be it. I'm tired of giving constructive feedback and input and getting no response.

Funny though I bet if I made a topic saying I didn't receive my tvt reward, I bet I'd get a response within the day.

    Hi CJ,

I can assure you, I've passed this information along to the design team. As of now, I've got no information to pass about potential changes to Token collection events. Early on in the game, players didn't like Card use events, so we went back to the drawing board and redesigned those. I've let the team know that players aren't happy with the current state of token collection events, but until they've given me information to pass about changes, I can't say for sure if any changes are coming.

We can't respond to everything, but your feedback is being heard and is being passed along! Thanks for understanding!

Credit where credit is due: I have (obviously) always liked the card events better but the improvements made to them have been great

Oh Yes! Only three buffs and no nerfs! Great! In this way we can have a lot of viable cards and nobody has wasted time in nerfed cards!
