Hello devs, can we talk electronics for a moment please?
Hello, Agents. I know this has been mentioned before, but I just thought a reminder was in order.
First off, I get it. Electronics are scarce in times like these. When people can't have a cup of coffee for over a month you know things are bad. Personally, I'd raid a stronghold for a cup of Folgers after a month or so. But, keeping in mind lore should be secondary when it adversely affects certain paradigms of gameplay, I would like to humbly ask you reconsider our ability to obtain electronics. Ceramics are not as big of an issue because they seem to be a biproduct of deconstructing various armors at times. I have salvaged some electronics from weapons, but that is few and far between. I think I only seen that happen once or twice.
In addition, we have 6 pieces of armor we can recalibrate as compared to 3 guns, so the demand is situationally doubled at times compared to other resources. Not only that, but mods require electronics as well. This increases the demand for electronics further than other crafting/recalibrating materials. Not to mention, our ways of obtaining electronics are somewhat limited.
I have a good 30-40 minute farming route. Solar Farm --> The Mast --> that house/sewer just north of DZ South. I get anywhere from 40-60 a run at least, in addition to gear and other materials. It's a good route. But considering that I have 3 fully functional GS 495+ builds that I would like to further optimize, on top of 2 more I would like to begin, the thought of acquiring the needed electronics makes me say, "oy vey".
I would propose the following:
*Make recalibrating armor use ceramics and protective fabric. It makes sense from a lore perspective. It would not render electronics useless, as mentioned before, mods still use them. Maybe you could reduce the amount of electronics to say 5 or 10.
*In lieu of not changing the requirements, you could make our ways of obtaining them a little easier. For instance, selling gear could yield electronics or completing projects could always offer a default set amount (100).
I'm an Agent. My business is serious, and everyone knows it. Even that one chick at the checkpoint tells me she wants to see my gadgets in action. We all know what that means. But personally, I could do without her fraternization and would much rather just have whatever electronics she and her cohorts are hoarding. I know they keep a stash somewhere, they're just not telling me, which is messed up because I'm a fregging Agent.
Anyway, thanks for reading. And thanks for an amazingly fun game.
