The way that game performance has dropped significantly with each patch really needs to be addressed.
My hardware is a bit old (i7-4771 and GTX 970), but at launch I could regularly maintain 50-60fps, with occasional drops below that. Now, a few updates later, I'm down to 30-40fps with some drops below that. I just died while working on a heroic checkpoint solo because my framerate dropped to about 20 and the animation jitter that gave the NPCs made them impossible to hit.
This is just ridiculous. Over the course of a few months the performance for this game has halved for me, with no changes to my system at all other than graphics driver updates. This really needs to be addressed.
Also, why are the AI problems back? The grenadiers and snipers are again trying to run up and melee me, and enemies have been trying to hide behind my cover only to realize when they get there that I'm already there and try to kill me. Also, a lot of enemies have been using the cover directly behind me or right next to me, where I can easily shoot them.
I'm running a 19-9900k @ 4.9 with a RTX 2080 @1440p with 32 GB RAM. With frames unlocked and all settings maxed I can get 120 FPS and dips down to 60.
With frame rate capped at 60 I get dips to 45 and in both settings at regular intervals.
Never get spikes in CPU or GPU usage. Just random drops in performance.
Yeah, stuttering and general poor performance has increased very recently. Honestly wondering if they've cut back on servers so people will stop commenting on not seeing anyone in safe houses anymore. Also noticing that the AI behavior has gotten irrational again. Every class rushing and running behind me. Not talking flanking, but just running right past me in narrow hallways like in the Capitol. They seemed to have had that fixed at one point.
Don't know about the charging, and normally I'm rushing up on their cover to blow them away, but I have had them try to take my cover once or twice, usually when they've lost track of my location as I run cover to cover while they're reloading or otherwise line of sight is broken. As for running to cover behind/beside you, enemies try to take an advantageous position to kill you, they aren't always wise in their tactics of taking that position, I don't think it's entirely unintentional, particularly if it's hyenas or outcasts. I have noticed performance issues on occasion, maybe once an hour, ryzen 5 2400G, rtx 2060 both stockOriginally Posted by whizkid338 Go to original post
