Regarding first dreadnought and evolution
Hey guys, I'm playing on PC. Can you give me some help, please?
Can I defeat the first dreadnought being level 4 or 5? I tried 2 times and died.
Also, I'm not understanding very well the evolution. How to level up better? I open the world map and can't find extractors, for example, in order to defeat them. Also, I can't find the primes. What do I need to do in order fo find them?
Well, how to evolve? Regarding the first dreadnought, can I beat it being level 4?
I'm around 5 hours of gameplay, so I found strange to find this type of enemy right now.
Thanks in advance for any help.

[The following is based on the Switch version. I believe it applies equally well to all versions, including the PC, but I don't know that for sure.]
Fundamentally, you've advanced too quickly in the game. As a result, your pilot doesn't have the skill levels, the ship and weapon skills, and the mods that they really need to pull this off.
At this point, you do not want to defeat that dreadnought, because that will then bring a world of hurt down upon you as the Legion strikes back in full fury. What you do want to do is to start getting your pilot experienced with the ship and the weapons, and thus leveled up.
The harder approach is to "build up your muscles" by protecting Haven and Vylus, the two planets that the dreadnought is connected to. You'll need to get observatories into the Alliance, and leveled up as necessary in order to see what's going on over as much of the planet as possible. If you see a brown smoggy cloud during your travels, there's probably an extractor in there. You can drive into it if you want, and try to find the extractor using the minimap and maybe even by spotting its glow through the gloom, or you could fly over the cloud (being careful not to fly off into space) to try to get a more exact fix on the extractor.
As you take down each extractor, that should give you the location of another extractor and/or the location of the prime. Eventually you'll get enough extractors taken down that you can smash the prime. But don't be surprised when the dreadnought eventually deploys another prime. With luck, by then you'll have a good observatory network up and running, and it'll be quicker to find and dispatch the prime.
The easiest thing to do is to just let the Legion run rampant on Haven and Vylus for now. You've got five more planets you can explore and get experience with. Go explore and bring outposts into the Alliance. If you get all of Kirite's outposts and most of its ruins into the Alliance, you'll get the planetary bonus of "Legion Vision" that will show you the extractors and primes on all of the planets. Personally, I consider that very valuable, but there are many, many ways to play the game and some won't find Legion Vision to be so important.
Also, I try to assure that there is at least one armory on each planet. Even a single armory can do an awful lot toward keeping the number of extractors under control, and preventing damage to outposts. Again, some people might feel otherwise. When an armory brings down an extractor, you don't get the core unless you happen to fly past some time later and see the dead extractor there. And sometimes the vigilantes from the armory seem to be more "in the way" than helpful during combat. It's your choice.
Having level-3 workshops on each planet is great for getting some top-notch mods. Each planet has a different list of mods they supply (each mod type is typically available on two or three planets). Buying level-IV mods using just Electrum (which eventually will flow like water) is a great way to get the ship and weapons powered up.
Whatever way you choose to go, don't go after that dreadnought until you're ready for a much bigger fight. Which reminds me: there is a subtle cue in the dialog. "When you're ready, return to the Equinox" means that it's time for you to go do a bunch of exploring and preparation for the next phase, which is going to be a lot harder. Don't return to the Equinox until you're ready for some new challenges.

Thank you very much, Auld_Jack. Fantastic tips and explanations! So, it seems this game is much more complex than I thought. I'm really loving it, despite it's being much difficult at the point I am now, having leveled up too much quickly.

Your big decision at this point (and you can always change your mind at any time) is whether to try to keep Haven and Vylus under control, or just let them go for now. You can check the difficulty levels of the various planets using the starmap. Usually Kirite is the easiest, with Sonatus and Haven not far behind. Then comes Vylus, Tundria, Ashar, and the hardest of them, Necrom.
If you decide to let Haven and Vylus "go to seed" at the moment, you can certainly play on Kirite and Sonatus. When you're comfortable with those two planets, give Tundria a try. Or maybe you'll feel ready to start cleaning up the mess on Haven. I personally would take a moment to build an armory on Haven to help protect the existing outposts before I headed off to the other planets, but that's mainly because my playing style tends to be fairly dependent on outposts.

I understood. Thank you. Will try to build some outposts, also.

This game reminds me a lot of Mass Effect, also. Maybe i'm wrong, but, who knows.
