    Dev Update: Hail the Elven King

    Hey everyone, it’s Toller ! I’ve snuck into my closed studio to bring you another weekly Developer Update! Happy Long Weekend to those of you also celebrating today.



    THIS WEEK

    Here’s a quick peek at the Weekly Timetable:


    As you can see, this week we have a 24h event featuring Stan of Many Moons as well as The Commoners Challenge, where all common cards are level 5. Also, there will be a brand new Fantasy card coming along with the weekend event, Elven King Bradley! This is our first Bradley card and he has a really unique power! As the King, he’s a supporting character, who boosts the range and attack of Ranged units, while he’s on the battlefield.

    The Range boost is +1.8 and the attack boost starts at + 10 and increases as you level up the card.


    ELVEN KING BRADLEY CARD USE EVENT!

    The following cards will be used in this event:

    • Captain Wendy
    • Bounty Hunter Kyle
    • Robo Bebe
    • Marine Craig

    • Kyle of the Drow Elves

    • Elven King Bradley




    As always, Team Wars is on-going, so be sure to get your votes in and collect those Bottle Caps!

    The points for the weekend event will be the same as usual.




    UPDATE

    On Thursday, May 23rd our next update should be start to roll out and be available for download. There will be some bug fixes and technical improvements coming, some preparation for the next version of Battle Pass and some changes to Team Wars. First the Bug fixes!


    BUG FIXES

    Fixed an issue where the ‘enrage’ ability could interrupt your attack animation
    Fixed an issue where Dougie would freeze in place after being teleported by Imp Tweek
    Fixed an issue where Mind-Control could cause Dougie’s ‘first hit’ ability to not trigger
    Fixed an issue where Pope Timmy would revive the wrong unit under certain circumstances
    Fixed an issue where Mr. Mackey’s aura would not function properly after being teleported by Imp Tweek
    Fixed an issue where Imp Tweek could freeze in place
    Fixed an issue where a mind-controlled Alien Clyde could hit the wrong target with his Warcry
    Fixed an issue where teams could have more than 50 runs in Team Wars
    Fixed an issue with currencies being double claimed in Battle Pass tiers
    Fixed an issue with the Challenge Leaderboard showing an incorrect reward tier
    [iPad Pro 12.9” and 11”] Fixed an issue where the Energy bar was cut off
    Fixe an issue where team members could receive different reward packs from Team Wars
    Fixed an issue where two of the same characters could be spawned after a connection issue

    TEAM WARS CHANGES

    First off, we heard the feedback that it was too easy to upgrade all or most cards and it took away the strategy that most of you wanted with Team Wars. To address that we’re changing upgrade costs to scale by rarity, meaning upgrading a common card will cost the least and legendary cards will cost the most.

    Here is the amount of bottle caps earned per PvP pack (during upgrade days).

    New Upgrade costs for Team Wars:

    Common Rare Epic Legendary

    +6 1200

    This means that, for example, to get a common card to level 7 (+3 levels) is 350 Bottle Caps, and to get a Legendary to level 4 (+3 levels) now costs 600 Bottle Caps.

    Team Wars Matchmaking:

    · Players are matched based purely on their Team League

    If game cannot find you a player from your own league it will expand the search for one league downwards (so silver can be matched with bronze)

    New Kid level will also be set to 14, regardless of league.

    OTHER ODDS AND ENDS

    We’ve added an inventory screen to the in-game phone. From there you can see the total amount of each upgrade item you have, seperated by theme.

    Can't you read?

    effective from 23rd of May, so next Team War will work like this.

    THIS MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE!!!!!

    You say the feedback you received was that upgrades were too easy, and you've 'solved' this by increasing the cost to +3 levels to legendary cards, but DECREASING the cost to +3 levels to all other rarities, which means that overall deck upgrade will be cheaper not more expensive.

    Now this may be covered by the cap amounts we get in PVP packs BUT this is certainly not made clear in the post. Do the numbers you showed us mean all players regardless of their TVT league get that same number of caps (a change which has not been mentioned in the original post but would start to answer my original point), or does your example only illustrate what's received within one particular TVT league (eg bronze)?

    I echo the sentiment, of course, of how silly it is to fix these relatively inconsequential things and ignore the bigger picture.

    But at least the effect of this card is somewhat sensible in that it scales with levels. Lately the new cards have been ridiculously overpowered in their effect, and if you guys are going to fix anything, you should fix some of those.

    Examples:

    Why does Youth Pastor Craig have a ridiculously high effect on preventing spellcasting, EVEN AT LEVEL 1? If it was maybe ten seconds at level 1, and then scaled up to 30, that might make some sense. Other cards such as freeze and poison work this way, why can't this?
    Why does Dragonslayer Red's ridiculously high effect on enemies take place EVEN AT LEVEL 1? Even if it's too difficult for the effect to scale number wise, certainly the time it is in effect can be made to scale - maybe 4 seconds at level 1, increasing thereafter? Other cards work this way, why can't this?
    Santa: kinda borderline, but couldn't his effect also have a charge time, which decreases as he levels? Shaman Token does.

    There are others, but these are the few that stand out the most to me. I'm sure they've been mentioned before.
