Well this is truly truly bizzare.
My default key for moving forward is 'W' as you can guess. Pretty standard WASD combination for movement. I have absolutely zero issues with the key itself, it doesnt stuck when typing, it doesnt act weird in any ways when playing other games etc. But tonight after everything I've done I decided to give it a shot and add a secondary key for movement.
And yes, when I use that secondary key there is no stuck issue at all. Everything is smooth. But when I change to 'W' it gets stuck again.
I dont know what to say. That key change points that the problem seems from my side but on the other hand as I already wrote it up I have zero issues with that key other than the obvious one with For Honor. I guess I will assign new movement combination and move on.
Have you actually tried to CLEAN up your keyboard for once? You are not using a notebook aren't you? Take a flat screwdriver pop the keys out slowly, see if you can get some nasty stuff out there. Make sure to use a vacuum clearer and shake up the insides a little bit.Originally Posted by Oddren Go to original post
Yeah, because a dirt only affects for honor would make hyper sense. As I already said before it only happens in For Honor, key works perfectly fine when typing, when playing other games when doing anything else.
And also I usually CLEAN my laptop twice a month. At least thats my goal. It is a few years old msi but still do its job pretty well.
But thanks for the heads up.
Sure bud.
For Honor is usually a weird mess of spaghetti code. I noticed on different playstation controllers (PS 1-4 )that the analog stick buttons (R3/L3 or LT/RT for xbox respectively) are usually quite sensitive in this game, unlike any other games in comparison. Which is why target lock on default is often too easy to trigger accidently. I could imagine this could somehow be a similar issue with keyboard keys.
The really weird issue with you is that it is centered around your W key. Others don't seem to be affected. Which is why I tend to believe that there must be some sort of issue (hence the suggestion to clean it up to make sure that it can move freely back into default position or that there is no nasty hair bundle right on the key matrix- but I guess, since it is a laptop you won't be able to reach it anyways).
