Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me with the issue I'm having. I was recently upgraded from version 4.08m in order to join online games using HyperLobby. I first downloaded and installed 409m.exe and Skins409m.exe. I found the files here:
http://games.on.net/file/29981...al_4.09m_Final_Patch
I restarted my machine and then downloaded and installed the Il2_410_1.exe patch which I found here:
http://fooblog.mexxoft.com/il-2-version-4-101m-patch/
My friend downloaded the same files from the same locations and his game is running fine.
When I go to play version 4.10.1 m the game's splash screen comes up and begins showing some loading progress (from what I can tell to 5%), but then crashes without warning to the desktop with no error message.
I tried re-installing the 4.09m patch, and the game works fine in that version. I'd ultimately like to be at version 4.10 because it seems to be the version a majority of people are using on HyperLobby
Here are some system specs:
Windows XP Professional SP3
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5400+ 2.8GHz
2 Gigs RAM
ATI Radeon X1800 series video card
Logitech Wingman Extreme
Hello guys. I'm having the same exact problem as OddBall_SDMF: 4.09M was working for me (although it would crash at random and say "il2fb.exe has stopped working"), then I patched to 4.10 and 4.101 and now it won't get past 5% loading before crashing. I tried re-patching to 4.10 in case I forgot to put it in the x86 folder (why are there 2 folders anyway, 1 in Program Files and 1 in Program files (x86)?), but that did not even start either. Please help!
I have:
Windows 7 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.20 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 5850
4 GB RAM
I would not call that 'was working', although you did add 'for me' so...(although it would crash at random and say "il2fb.exe has stopped working")
As for the crash at 5%: Are you using any mods, or have been using any? If so, go to the place you got the mods from...
If not, try and make sure which of the two folders in Program Files holds the most recently changed files, that will be the one you have been using.
Once you know which one it is, copy that one to a different folder on your harddisk, as the use of the Program Files folder under windows 7 is not recommended for IL2. (Create a folder C:\Games for instance)
You might consider un-installing IL2 all together, and re-install it to a different folder... and then apply all patches in the correct order.
See here: Vista Home Premium x64 and 1946 it references to Vista, but that procedure works for Win7 too.
Good Luck!
