Is this False Advertisement ? " "Matchmaking is provided for every game activity ..."

"Matchmaking is provided for every game activity and difficulty level."

"is provided" not "will be provided"

could be read as "everything that is in the game at the moment of the release of this paper has matchmaking".

Are you asking for an opinion, or from a legal perspective?

using intentionally deceptive wording is even more of a slap in the face than the actual lie

i wouldnt go that route if i was them.

*i would just use it as an occasion to show good will, fix my mistake, and all that fiasco would have done is generating attention/free publicity.
that's the route i'm hoping they go for ; morph the mistake into a decent PR move. (all the articles that talked about it will have to mention it's been corrected and thats a second wave of visibility - and then they can drop their cheesy "we listened!" line )

I think the legal precedent on "false advertising" in games was set with No Man's Sky, when a judge ruled in the devs favor in that they did not falsely advertise their game, even though it was released with none of the features and content it promised.

    Good luck..

Not sure a judge was involved (though it was just an agency), but yes, this is pretty much the benchmark. If it didn't stick there it won't stick here.

Also note that Hello Games completely redeemed themselves by supporting their game for the past four years and turning it into one of the greatest games ever. Something that will never happen here unless major changes are made in Ubi/Massive.
