The elbows and body motion looked a bit over the top for a game in my opinion. I think the mocap accuracy (or not) of a real soldier running with the kit is not the main issue. There needs to be some "game license" on the animation because real life accuracy may not translate too well to a character on a computer screen.

Variety is king and details make up the image. It does look like Breakpoint will have way better animations when compared to Wildlands.
There's nothing better than getting two inches of God's green earth into your barrel after you find a nice big root at 2am during some manouvers:-)
Edit. GRFS had the best sprint animation I've ever witnessed in a vidya gaym.
Here I thought I was the only one thinking crossovers was silly. I rather have more content within the TC universe and just like you said 8v8 content. Crackdown 3 does great with actors but look how the game ended.Originally Posted by DaCajun Go to original post
Jogging was always situational. In BUD/S it was high port always. Later on, it was sprinting or CQB was high port, other times, low port to keep your arms from getting exhausted especially on a long insertion.Originally Posted by B_616e6f6e Go to original post
I've seen an M4 and an AK47(you know the supposedly indestructible rifle) be rendered non-functional in combat from a guy tripping while running in low port. The M4 there was nothing for it, the buffer tube got bent and the bolt wouldn't cycle. The AK, the dust cover got bent and hung up the bolt. The Iraqi SF guy that was along with us was determined to be in the fight though, he popped the dust cover off and kept right on.
Yeah I'm a big fan of high port whenever the bullets are flying.
GRFS movement besides the cover swapping abuse had the best movement in GR history if you ask me. Wildlands movement felt too clunky and definitely can be improved but its not a top tier problem. I would say the cover mechanic is a bigger issue than the movement/animation. When a grenade explodes nearby your character how can they still be on they feet and not be knocked down?
How come when you jump off a small cliff or rooftop how come the knees aren't bending? All we got was a somersault when you felled from high distance. How can you walk over mines and brush it off while walking normal? GRFS animation was very good in terms of movement and animation. This why I think the game is far from realistic when the actual character doesn't act human.
I think this video explain what the complain about running animation is

I absolutely agree with this guy and share his concern for that animation. It looks horrible. Absolutely pathetic if that’s going to be the sprint animation. The upper body is swaying way too fast in comparison to how the lower is moving. Doesn’t make sense at all.Originally Posted by Gmoneymozart Go to original post
For some people, animations are a big component and I know for me personally they can almost be a deal breaker. These animations need to be improved else I honestly may consider canceling my preorder.
Another good video talking about the animations. He touches on other important parts also and I agree.Originally Posted by Sash0_ Go to original post

Don’t tell me that running animation when sprinting looks good. It needs serious fixing. This is quoted from another person on this thread but I share his sentiment. The sprinting animation looks atrocious. The top half of the body doesn't move in sync with the bottom half and is extremely too quick. It looks like something you'd see in games many years ago, not in this day and age. I mean do you guys at Ubi seriously think these sprint animations look good? Why were the sprint animations changed so dramatically from Wildlands to Breakpoint? They look horrible.
After looking at that video again, I noticed the bottom half of the playeyrs bodies hardly moved almost as if the feet/legs were skipping on the ground. Their knees didn't even go up while sprinting. Wtf?
