People that want MM (I am one of them) want it because it is convenient and want to play the game they purchased and enjoy. It's simple. It has nothing to do with social skills, making friends entitlement etc.
As you grow older and gain more responsibilities you dont have time to go to 3rd party sites or external MM to try and organize a group. It takes away the allotted time you have to actually play the game. Even in a clan it becomes complicated organizing 7 other people to be on at the exact time when they have their own responsibilities.
Dave lives on the Eastcoast, Bob lives on the Westcoast, John has to get up early for a business meeting, Tom will be on as soon as his wife goes to bed, Kelly has baby duty...
As you can see it gets exhausting to try and find 3 or so hours to set aside where all your friends can be on at the same time.
With MM you can still group with some of your friends and meet new people while playing. It could grow your clan and you can gain gaming friends.
I've been playing games for a LONG time (I'm 45) and I remember the hell of organizing WoW and EQ raids. It could take hours just to get the people in the group to start. I had a lot more time on my hands then.
I really dont understand why people are arguing in favor of no MM. It wont affect you at all. People just want to play a game. If I MM a raid and wipe constantly I'm not going to come to the forums and cry it's too hard. Obviously, the group wasn't organized. What I will complain about is not even being given the chance to try it.
