🛈 Announcement
Greetings! The Division forums are now archived and accessible in read-only mode, please go to the new platform to discuss the game

The only reason I can think of for no raid MM is that it extends the entire life cycle of the game a little bit. If they allowed MM, then it would be much easier to get into the raid, and much easier to actually complete it. With this cap on groups that are allowed to raid, they artificially extend the life of their game.

In the end, it is all about making money. If they think MatchMaking will somehow hurt their bottom line, they won't offer it.

I've played tons of raids in Destiny, all were done with groups randomly thrown together. The MM on Division has always been a selling point to me. This decision isn't about anything other then limiting the choices your players get to make.

    Dumb.

its not wrong, when promises arent broken and when casuals can use matchmaking ..its only your opinion, when u dont wish use that option.. but its definitely your fail, when u try force whole ppl to dont use that..

just.. let other ppl play as they wish.. and play as u wish.. like real hardcore players dont care about u, because ur just loud wannabe.. dont take care about other ppl and how they play their game..
LOL no where near in the age bracket of being a millennial.

Dude I seen every story, writing, whine post there is on why casuals should be able to do raid areas. I been at the blunt end is hearing this from working on DAOC and EQ.

Again they are not stopping you...They are not blocking you...They are just making sure for you be SOCIAL..Rational ... when doing the raid. A bunch of random unknown players is a hot mess spelling disaster for raids. Then what people complain they cant finish it. What happens next dumbing down the raid.

I'm going to start by saying that I'm on your side here.

Having said that, I'll dare say you did not buy the game for its matchmaking features. You bought the game for the missions and the content. Matchmaking is a nice feature to have, yes, but it was not the main influence for you to make the decision of purchasing the game. Let's call a spade a spade. I hear you dude, I also read "matchmaking for all activities," and it sucks that they did not add that important feature to the raid, but what's done is done.

The question now is: what's the player base going to do with this knowledge? Are we going to simply shut up, take it and continue sponsoring these kinds of decisions, or are we going to make a statement with the only things we can actually use: our time and our money?

If you are still looking for groups to do the raid, then you're not really that upset about lack of matchmaking....

No its just lack of social skills. Find people, talk to people build a group...raid. how hard is that?

Social skills have nothing to do with anything.

The main issue is the inconvenience of it all, having to leave the game to go into 3rd party services just to find someone hosting a group, then that host will probably have to go through many requests, then having to send multiple invites, etc., then the ones who did not join are left in limbo waiting: "do I wait, do I move on?" If you host your own it's the same inconvenience, the same hassle: going to a 3rd party service to look for a group, then how do you determine who joins you and who doesn't?

And after all the hassle, making your own group does not guarantee that you'll not be in a lobby with 7 others that could potentially be less undergeared or have less experience in the game than yourself, or leave after the first wipe. Then what do you do if someone leaves or is kicked out? Alt-Tab to Discord and try to recruit a replacement mid raid?

Anyone that thinks not having matchmaking in the raid is a good thing is totally deluded...

You aren't a millennial and yet you have no idea who Che' Guevara is? Oof. Can't tell if you're lying about your age, or just a basement dweller.

Since you've powerleveled all over this thread, I think I will powerlevel a bit.

My stats on Division 1 are not stellar, but my PvE stats on this game are probably a different story.

Presently I am in the Top 0.6% of headshot kills(It has been fluctuating between this and 0.5%). With currently being the Top 3% of Sharpshooter Kills. Almost all of this was in PvE. Granted this is from Division Tracker and the stats and sampling could be skewed. I don't really often prance my stats on this forum or trash people for being noobs. In the last forum fight on making things more new player friendly, I sided with the newer/casual players. With a somewhat fulltime job and spending my free hours playing this game, I would say that I am pretty sympathetic to both sides on a lot of these issues.

I would on paper be considered a strong player and maybe by some to be beyond even the elite level. Still I only can manage to get my headshot damage on a M700 to 600k when the stars align properly and often settle for just around 340K to allow talents that enable survivability solo. I can settle for this because often I only do solo content on Hard to Challenging Difficulty. Up until this point there hasn't been a significant challenge to provoke me to really take things much further. Not every sharpshooter is the same as every other sharpshooter. Despite my stats saying they are high, I would say that maybe I am a bit above average. With all the stats that can shift and all the aspects in the game that have significant effects, saying that specializations = roles is not accurate.

I am personally very hesitant about this raid and I strongly feel others should be too. Games should have ultra hard content for the most elite players just like the majority of it should be available to the majority of the playerbase. Some of us(notice I am including myself) are probably not at this time capable of completing this content.

The only reason you haven't seen the "Sekiro" level of difficulty is probably MatchMaker. They tailor the content around the lower median of the people engaging in it.

The raid does indeed look hard. You have to do more than just shoot mob A and B until both mob A and B are dead. Match Maker with the current seen mechanics in this raid will kill MM faster than any lack of content. I mean the dog fight is separating DPS and DPSing evenly is something simple but I think in this games MM would be insane.

This times 10000000. "Hey, let's force people to quit playing our game and use a third party app or site in order to find a group for an activity in.... our game!"

This is such an incredibly stupid mind set for dev's to have, especially since they apparently haven't learned much from the multiple games that pulled this same bull and people responded the same way.
