With it looking very likely we won't see matchmaking with the raid it seems that it is going to become very possible that certain meta's are going to be locked away from the average player.
Can you imagine logging into the game and not being able to participate effectively because you don't have 7 other players on hand so you can't make a build in a looter shooter? Welcome to this week on Division 2.
If one of these builds became the meta or overpowered in some way, anyone without access to the raid is just going to get owned 100% of the time.
Locking builds away from people in a looter shooter is an awful idea just because they don't have access to 7 other people. Matchmaking is needed.
The internet raged when 515 was only going to drop in the DZ, this is far far far worse. At least you could walk into the DZ and have a chance at dropping a 515 solo, or with 3 other people random via matchmaking.
You could also pick up that gearset in 500 anywhere else in the game.
With the Raid, if we cannot matchmake we have 0 chance in a small clan that never has 8 active members at the same time.
Your new YouTube search will be - Marco Assault Rifle build no raid gear, Widdz SMG build with no raid gear, Inigo LMG build with no raid gear.
Matchmaking is needed, small clans need a chance to be able to obtain all gear just as much as large clans and streamers.
I really don't get why there wouldn't be matchmaking? How does matchmaking hurt the raid? I saw the post by the dev asking if they would really want to be put in a raid with 7 other random dudes.. The answer to that is YES.. as the alternative is not being able to play it at all.. It will probably be very difficult to finish with a PUG group, but you will likely slowly but surely chip away at each part of the raid.. All while slowly grabbing gear from each phase.. Eventually players will be good enough to get through it..
No matchmaking will be an absolute game killer (as if the game is not already dead).. How do the people at Massive not understand this? How many people, myself included, have already quit the game but were holding out hope for the raid? I would suspect there were a lot of people like this.. Not having matchmaking will keep all those people from coming back and effectively ending the game. These people really are Massive idiots.. Don't they have anyone there that knows anything? Apparently they think their method of running this game is working.. These guys are just so out of touch it isn't even funny.
I can bring my own thread to a close.

Yes I do want to do hard content with randoms. I have a mic, I can communicate.
No Matchmaking. This means gear is locked out for me, along with builds which is the fun of the game for me.
Massive clearly don't care - Here are my stats I have clearly put some effort into this game.

If your ruling out a player with these stats can you imagine how many casual players you are ruling out?
Awful.
Wont much matter if there is no matchmaking for the raid. Half the player base wont be able to get it, me being one of them.
Backtracking on a promise they made before the game was released, and part of why I even got this game, is not going to go over well. It's already creating a backlash and it is not even out yet.
that's how i feel too.Originally Posted by Morehei Go to original post

pugging is underrated ; it's also a good way to meet new online people.
